Any cloth will do. T-shirts, etc.
I also like the rain falling sound of the tower bong. The difference will only be a few C and less fan noise.

You did not say what your temperatures are currently with the tower? If your water temps are 3C to 5C below ambient - I would suggest just staying with that.

Sending pm re. bong construction.

The separate, double loop method seems the best idea to me personally. Avoids a lot of cleaning and hassle it sounds.

I had an idea which is this:

Place your 360mm rad in your bong's reservoir, but place it so that the pump draws water through the fins of the thing exactly like you'd do with fans normally. That will improve the heat transfer from the warm radiator to the cold water in the bong.

If you want to really get hardcore and have several PCs to cool...you could set up a radiator channel that leads to the main bong pump. Have the reservoir funnel into a space the same size as the rads and then just line them all up, leaving the pump no choice but to pull water through all their fins.

Or maybe it's best to simply cover the rad in a thin cloth and place it with the evaporators so that the water is evaporating right off the surface of the thing for maximum effect?

For the pump to draw water through the radiator, you will need to have a 'shroud' between the pump intake and the radiator.

If you have that set up it will work fine. Not sure how much difference the fpi of the radiator would really make. I have never had a low fpi radiator. that might work better than the heater core I used.

79 C on hottest core with 26.1C ambient. What is your water temperature in your reservoir? It should be (guessing here) around 23 C under load given how humid it is down in Florida. Assuming that is the upper range of your water temperature then you should remount your block. Also, you mentioned using larger tubing. If you are currently using 3/8" tubing you should see improvement by increasing to 7/16 or 1/2". Last possibility is gunk in your block. You will want to take it apart to clean out every couple weeks as long as you are on open loop anyhow - it might have some critters growing in it already. Again since you live in Florida this is a real concern for you.

hmmm. When you shift to 1/2" hose will help you out a bit. Have you checked your mount? possible tim application issues?

hmm..i think the showerhead is bottlenecking my flow..ordered 1/2" id barbs yesterday..metinks i'm gonna get a splitter...run 2 3" showerheads in a 6" pipe..and make it 1 foot taller..that height seemed to yield the best temps..still..not too bad temps
