Finally ready to build

Thread Starter
I have been saving for a little now and I just got some scholarship money and finally have enough money to build my very first computer. I have $1800 so far, but I am willing to wait till my next pay check to spend a little more. So a few things first I already have an Antec 1200, optical drive, mouse & Keyboard. So I just need the rest of the build and here is what I have come up with through some research.

Q6600
EVGA 780i FTW
EVGA GTX 280
Corsair 1000HX
Corsair Dominator 4GB DDR2 1066
VelociRaptor 300GB
TRUE
Vista Ultimate x64 or Vista Home Premium x64(Can't Decide if the extra features are worth it)
Total - $1758

I chose the 1000w Corsair because I plan to go SLI with the GTX 280. So any advice or comments on the build would be much appreciated.

I stated that I had bought an Antec 1200, which I think is a pretty good case.

Korben why not wait for Nehalem?? It should be available at boutiques in a week from now at most.

Yes seriously. Wait for it man.

$1800 is a lot to dish out on a PC at once especially when its just the tower. It is a suitable budget for nehalem, DDR3, and a x58 so why not?

Alright you guys convinced me. It is a lot of money so I might as well get the latest and greatest. Also after reading up some more i7 review it looks worth it.

I'm thinking

Core i7 920
Asus P6T
Corsiar Dominator 6GB DDR3 1600

with the other parts the same. Don't suppose anyone knows when newegg or other online retailers will get these?
