Ram Fitting Question...

Thread Starter
So i am currently looking into new ram...
im looking at the "TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF"
but im a little woried about the height of this ram..
i run a. "Ultra / ChillTec / Socket 939/775/AM2 / Thermal Electric CPU Cooler"
which just so happeneds to hang about a half inch or so over my first DIMM slot.. [o and my mobo is the "780i SLI"]
So heres my Question... Would i be able to use a stick of this ram in the 1st DIMM without cutting heatsink fins? or will i have to do some moding to the rams heatsink?

I am sorry , i do not have an answer for you , however i would like to inquire about your cpu heatsink.
I have always wanted to ask somone that had that particular one, the performance of it, and how it stacks up to other heatsinks, true TT, etc .

My best advice on your problem is to bust out a tape measure.

They are a little taller than standard RAM. You won't need the fan as they run quite cool. If you're worried about hight, get these instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146785

How well would those handle in a EVGA 780i Board?
