So i am currently looking into new ram...
im looking at the "TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF"
but im a little woried about the height of this ram..
i run a. "Ultra / ChillTec / Socket 939/775/AM2 / Thermal Electric CPU Cooler"
which just so happeneds to hang about a half inch or so over my first DIMM slot.. [o and my mobo is the "780i SLI"]
So heres my Question... Would i be able to use a stick of this ram in the 1st DIMM without cutting heatsink fins? or will i have to do some moding to the rams heatsink?

I am sorry , i do not have an answer for you , however i would like to inquire about your cpu heatsink.
I have always wanted to ask somone that had that particular one, the performance of it, and how it stacks up to other heatsinks, true TT, etc .

My best advice on your problem is to bust out a tape measure.

lol well im to lazy to turn pc off
so tape measure isa no no...
haha

and well its ok until u remove it 1nc or 2wc and reatach it.. the metal used is EASILY dented.. the raised corners of my old Q6600 has indented and it, and now it doesnt cool properly..

i am now going with the "Thermalright ULTRA-120"
