Hi,

I have a couple of question for FT02 or RV02 users. I had a friend with PC spec pretty similar to eternal7trance, only the case is FT02. He want to trade it with me. The conditions are:

1. I have also H60 mount with 2 pcs GT AP-15 as push-pull intake in the rear, 2 pcs GT AP-15 as exhaust in top, GT AP-15 intake in 5.25" bay and 200mm stock fan as front intake.

2. My friend's FT02 also had H60 mount with GT AP-15 as push-pull exhaust.

3. I will bring along my Pioneer DVD R/RW device and Lamptron FC-5 with me to FT02.

The Question is:

A. With my setting of those fan (intake & exhaust), is it really worth it if I trade my 600T to my friend's FT02?

B. If I'm agree to the term of exchange, what should I do or upgrade on the FT02, so that this FT02 will better on positive pressure?

Really appreciate your comment, feedback or anything...

I don't really see how you can get more positive pressure than 3X 180mm intake and 1x 120mm exhaust. Unless you plan on changing to higher RPM 180mm fans. The silverstone FM181 fan spins 100 rpm faster than the AP181 in the FT02. But it doesn't have the air penetrator fins that straighten the airflow...

Does your friend's FT02 have the AP181 fans or the older ones (can't remember what they are called). The first FT02s came with worse fans in the bottom.

Yes.. indeed he has the newer AP-181. His system is about 3-4 months old. I did not see any dust in his parts though. Compare to my old 690 II Adv, the FT02 is neat inside out. But now I own Corsair 600T, i love this case but I do interested in the Positive Pressure that Silverstone offer. And I don't think that Corsair can beat that..

PS: for the exhaust, he used 2pcs 120mm GT's w/ H60..

A. If you want lower temps, hell yes. I bought a 600t and returned it because my temps were about 10*c higher with it.

B. The FT02 is fine on the positive pressure aspect. You don't even need to change the fans, just leave the 3x180s at the bottom and put whatever 120mm you want to at the top. I guarantee it will wipe the floor with the 600t in terms of temps.

Do you have links to your case gallery? I want to see how the components look in your RV02. I'll compare to my friend's FT02..

And because you're a former 600T user, and you DO experienced in temps dropping, I might as well follow your steps...

Thx..

Thx a lot. Too bad my friend own an FT02, it's neat and nice. If it were RV02 Evolution White, I'll jump straightly into it

1. What is the different between FT02 and RV02 Evolution? (we're talking inside of course, because on the outside look FT02 look calm and conservative).

2. What is the different between the older AP-181 and the new one? (Just asking in case my friend lie to me... )

1. I can't see any difference other than the lack of sound deadening foam.

2. The old one has a different grill on the fan that doesn't straighten the air as much as the new one. I've seen comparison tests and the new fans cool as well on low (~650 RPM) as the old ones did on high (~1100 RPM).

1. Nothing except how the outside looks and the sound deadening foam inside.

2. AP-181s cool a little better. You can tell the difference by looking at the grill. The better ones are called AP-181s and have a spiral grill. The older ones are called FN-181s and have a honeycomb grill. So it's easy to see which one is which.

Is it the AP-181 with honeycomb-grill the old ones? Or the AP-181 with whirlwind-shape grill? What I saw was, the one with whirlwind-shape grill..
