Yes it would be much worse for your overall airflow and case temps if you set it as intake. I'll let others guess on how little the H80 itself stands to gain from being set as an intake but I'd imagine not very much at all.

If you set the H80 as exhaust, it'll pull the cold air from the 180mm case fans at the bottom up thru the case and thru the rad. There's nothing in it's path (other than a bit of heat from the NB possibly) so it'd make no sense not to mount it at the top and use it as exhaust

If you mount it at the top as intake, where is all the heat going to go?
It seems like a massively obvious mistake

Question about Raven 2 (-E) case. Does anyone of you installed sth like:
Silverstone SST-SF01 in it? It's a sound dampening foam... Wouldn't it make it similar to FT02?

Dimensions are:
530 x 380 x 4 mm - too short maybe, but won't have to cover the 5.25" bays, I guess?

Or maybe - you spotted/used other product, that suited well?

BTW - I've just bought Zalman ZM-PCM1 for about 14$, and 2x VPM1 (about 9$ each). Quite a bargain?

I used this all over my RV03, it certainly made a difference and I don't regret it but don't expect a whole lot from any sort of sound deadening.

How may sheets have you used? 2 ?
More than I'd care to admit. There isn't a whole lot that isn't covered in them in my case. Please don't make me say how many. LOL

Oh btw the cooled on your DCII 5770 won't work as well in a rotated case as it does in a typical case as you have now. From my testing the DCII is about 8C hotter in a case like the RV02 or 03, due to the heatpipe design on that cooler.

Has any one tried an H100 on a FT02 case ??
Where? Just sitting on top of the 180mm fans? I don't see anywhere to actually mount it better than just sitting it on top of those fans.

juano - hmm, more than 4? About DCII - I'll manage In worst scenario - I'll change the card to MSI TF III. Lightning is too expensive for me
post #2390 of 6398
Thanks Juano.
That is exactly where I intend to mount it.
What I wonder though are :
- Would it stop me from using the first PCI slot on an asus maximus IV extreme z?
-Does it affect the push-pull config of the radiator, the push fans being the 180mm air penetrators.
-Could I use really long graphic card like the FirePro v7900, which is as long as the 5970 with the power cables at the bottom..

I find the FT02 so elegant Iam forcing myself in to issues..
