Et bienvenue Darshan.

I have XSPC RX480 + RS 240 mounted in the bottom. I used XSPC universal rad stands.

Watercooling will follow soon hopefully, once I decided whether to get a 7970 or a new nvidia card

Edit: Anyone able to give me a quick little review/share thoughts on having a XSPC EX480 radiator on the business side of the bottom compartment, and either a EXPC 240 or 380 rad at the reverse side of the comparment, with a PSU down there?

A white version would be cool. Would of bought mine in white had they had one. Not a fan of the silver one.
But really it's a solid case.

No doubt the ft02 is a solid case but its lacking in some area's.

1. More aluminum, lets get the weight down. All aluminum cases are very light and when done right, strong.
2. Some sort of hard drive dock like the 650d would be nice.
3. usb on the front, not the top.
4. more room behind optical drive bay area
5. I would like to see less optical drive bays and more hard drive bays. Who needs more then one or two optical drive bays these days? However I would need at least one more hd bay then what it currently offers. How about some ssd drive bays, and some 3.5" bays and two optical drive bays? can you say hot swap too?
6. Completly tool'less design. In this day and age if I have to pick up screw driver for anything, you have failed your case design.
7. Related to above, latches for both side panels.
8. Probably my biggest issue with any case without a front door, nothing ruins the look of a case more to me then when you have no way to cover your mismatching optical drives. Gimme a door to cover them, drive covers of some sort, anything. We got doors on every case to cover ugly usb connectors, yet we still have to deal with ugly dvdrw's. I would never accept a premium car with each door a different color, so I want my premium case to match properly too..lol.
9. I do like the simple and consevative design, but it needs a little something on the front to make it less plain vanilla. No stupid lights or gaping holes, or ugly plastic, but some little touch of contemporary style.
10. the window itself looks a little tacked on. Corsair gets this done a little better with framing the window and hiding the screw heads.
11. Top panel is cheap, the look and feel and how it pops off...needs updating.

Listen I do love the case. But is been out a while now and needs a new revision. Adding some usb 3 ports is not enough in this price range.. I do hope they keep the right sided configuration which is the single reason why I am interested in this case and keep the design simple and keep it quiet.

As for wanting white, **** no. Just my opinion but I have no need for a white anything. The only thing in my house that is white is my pos wii and 360 and I hate it . White is out, done, does not belong on electronics, it doesn't even work in a kitchen as a toaster anymore. Oh wait I forgot, my toilet is white..lol I am being harsh here, I just hate white. There are some sweet cases here where guys have done everyitng in white...looks great, but only when done like they have done it.

All opinions really.

1. The only thing not aluminium is the steel frame. A good chunk of the weight comes from the 5mm'ish (i think it is) thick aluminium unibody.
2. I don't see a point in a hard drive 'dock' like the 650D, want the hard drives? keep it. Don't want them? pop the 8 rivets or so holding it in and take it out.
3. Grab a 3.5 or 5.25 drive bay for that. I personally like them on the top. Having USB's and headphone jacks on the front is a disaster waiting to happen. Don't know how many times someones brushed up against my computer and killed my usb ports on other cases.
4. There's plenty of space behind the ODD bays.
5. Personally 5 ODD's is perfect. You want more HDD's, add a case to the ODD area. Can easily fit another 5-6 drives within 3 ODD bays. But 5 ODD bays is pretty much the minimum I'd like to have. ( DVD Drive, Fan Controller, 2 Bay Res, and occasionally a 15 in 1 card reader )
6. I'm a fan of screws. Tooless stuff just doesn't appeal to me. That and most are plastic. Lian Li did some nice metal ones but that's about it.
7. Again, like my screws.
8. doh.gif
9. I like simplicity so it looks perfect for me.
10. Easy enough to throw the window on the inside and screw it in, or even a simple mod yourself. Check out lowfats and what he did.
11. Top panel is cheap, but it works. K.I.S.S.

And no one would force you to buy a white case so why go crazy over that rolleyes.gif

1. i actually like the steel subframe because steel works better with screws. aluminum tend to wear out too easily when it comes to screw holes. weight isn't much of an issue since the case itself is too large to be used as a lan box anyway smile.gif however this does ties into your issue # 11 where the top cover comes into play.

2. actually, I would MUCH rather they cut a hole in the front of the chassis and rotate the existing HDD cage to face front so the hot swap bays are externally accessible.(much like the corsair 800D) put a backplane on it (like the 800D) and make it nice looking like installing a door to cover the drives (again like the 800D)

3. don't care. works either way for me

4. this is actually a bigger problem then it seems:D overall, the case should be made larger so there is more room in the back of ODD AND allow the use of the 8th expansion slot. with the increase in size, they should also move to 200mm fans instead of 180mm fans. with the 200mm fans, this will also allow more room on the back of the mobo tray for wire management (another one of the FT02's weakness) so essentially it's a massive redesign of the entire case. maybe a FT02-XL ? biggrin.gif

5. agreed, however, that space is used by liquid cooling people.... even tho i disagree with liquid cooling in the FT02. i can see why some people would like that space free.

6/7. don't really care that much. too much "tool'less" design is actually a bad thing IMO. some things should be screwed in tight IMO.

8. this can be an issue for those people using the FT02 next to a $50,000+ stereo system biggrin.gif however there are aftermarket solution to this (stealth mod for ODD) so i'm not too worried about it.

9. completely subjective and reason for modding. not something they can put into the design. tho a "3 bay" faceplate(like the one's in caselab cases) would have been a nice touch to clean up the looks even more.

10. i didn't choose a windowed version because i don't really care for it. not because it's ugly, but because I like to keep it simple and clean looking. window is abit too flashy for my taste.

11. one of my major gripes about the case biggrin.gif metal covered plastic still counts as plastic:D this is where aluminum with rare earth magnets to attach onto the steel subframe would have a made a huge difference in terms of overall quality feel to the case.

personally, I'd like to see some kind of a FT02-XL implementation since coolermaster has upped the ante with the cosmos2. getting away from the 180mm fan would be a nice change since the industry seems to be settling onto 200mm as a standard large fan size. the 200mm fan would also allow more room for cable management and overall airflow improvement along with the usage of the 8th expansion slot. having the hotswap bays externally accessible would also put this case a step above the rest as it's also a viable case for file server.

don't think it's gonna happen, but we can dream right? biggrin.gif

Yeah - if I don't have to pick up a screwdriver to put my case together, I'll think it's a shoddy heap of junk. WAY too many things won't work with tool-less designs, especially in drive bays. I've never found a no-tool design that works for me, I like the security of screws, thanks.
I want MORE big 5.25" bays, and a pile of trays so I can fit my HDDs in there where I want them to go.

Hrm.. this is starting to imply I should go to case labs for my next case... but they're so ugly compared to SilverStone... Maybe if SilverStone did something similar... *ponders*

On to other things.
Thanks McDown for your answer, +reppage. I used a 480mm rad mount to fit mine, which works, but it seems to limit my mounting options. Sounds like I need new rad mounts so I can get more fans on this beast of a rad.

You can easily fit EX480 + 240 of your choice + PSU (almost any size). Check my Driller Killer build (WIP) in my sig for some pics.

I'm trying to think of a colour scheme to go with (pics above)

Obviously the first thought would be blue fluid in the water loop, preferable like;

472

I'd like to mimic the lighting panel at the bottom, but I'm not sure what to do about the rear stupid 92mm fans. I should have ordered the case with a blanked out rear panel =/
