As do I biggrin.gif

I'm a huge sucker for metal. All kinds, though I tend to listen more to the retro kind, like early Metallica, Black Sabbath and Ozzy. My top 10 bands would be:

01. Type O Negatve - favorite
02. Rammstein - favorite
03. AC/DC
04. Metallica
05. Black Sabbath (Ozzy era)/Ozzy Osbourne
06. Queen
07. Airbourne
08. Dream Theater
09. Pantera
10. Rage Against The Machine

^order is not a display of "how much" I like each band, although my favorites are my favorites smile.gif

I also listen to the following: The Offspring, Airbourne, Scary Symmetry, Illdisposed, Slayer, Paradise Lost, Powerwolf, Primus, Pyramaze, Rise Against, Rob Zombie, Black Label Society, Austrian Death Machine, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Audioslave, Soundgarden, A Perfect Circle, Tool, 3 Inches Of Blood, Volbeat, Trivium, System Of A Down, The Ramones, Megadeth, Machine Head, Fear Factory, DragonForce, Five Finger Death Punch, Freedom Call, Down, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin - and a lot more!

- those bands are not in any specific order. Some of them I like more than others smile.gif

Hello guys, i"m seriously thinking about buying an RV02 after summer. To replace my cm690 2. Now i have a question. I have heard lots of times that if a hard drive has been working horizontally for a while and then you turn it in a vertical position that it can get damaged. Since rv02 has a vertical mounting system for hard drives and i have 2 drives that have over 4000 working hours in horizontal position should i have problems? Has any of you had problems with dead drives after putting them vertically into raven?

I've never heard of that kind of problem before. But if your worried about the HDD being mounted vertically, buy this; http://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-CFP52B-5-25-Inch-Converter-Hot-Swappable/dp/B001NPEBEM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341840547&sr=8-1&keywords=silverstone+5.25+hdd+bay

haha I saw As I Lay Dying last night. also saw Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Motorhead, Slayer, and my absolute favorite, Slipknot all last night as well.

I've actually seen Slipknot twice now and they put on the best live show by far (them and Rob Zombie are neck and neck show wise)

I would really be shocked if you had any problems putting the drives in a different orientation. Just the way a hard drive works it shouldn't give you trouble. My drives sat horizontally for at least a year in my machine before I put them in my raven. also my storage drive lived in a server for at least 5+ (maybe more, I'm actually not sure) years before that sitting horizontally and now it lives vertically and it hasn't had any issues.

.

Never listened to Asking Alexandria or The Devil Wears Prada. Odd names for bands though, haha! Motörhead is great - well, the few songs I've listened to. I never came around to give them a thorough listen. Same goes for Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. I've listened to a couple of albums with Slayer, and they are very brutal. Rob Zombie is great! Love the music, and his few movie projects. I listened to Slipknot a lot when they first came out. I was 13 back then. Then a lot of "pop" people, and people not even liking metal, but listened to all that girly pop and rap music, started listening to it, and then it sort of faded for me. I do go back to listen to them a couple of times, but wouldn't call myself a real fan. They have some brutal songs and great lyrics, but I'm not a true Slipknot fan.

But if you like live shows, try checking out Rammstein. They might not be your taste in music, but their live shows are amazing. They use a lot of pyrotechnics, and for a period of time, they weren't allowed to do shows inside because of the fire hazard. They were even banned some places in Germany for they taboo lyrics. Some of the band members actually get quite burned on stage - 2nd degree, I believe. People, who stood in the front row at their shows, would actually feel the heat from the flames. It's awesome! I wish someday to watch them live, but they don't come to Denmark often, and it's not exactly cheap.

We might begin to get pretty off topic, hehe. But that's metal. Metal isn't just music that fades. It's a passion. A life, if you will. If I didn't have metal in my life, I'd probably not be here today. I like to think that Type O Negative prevented me from "not being alive anymore". Oh, well, enough emotional jibber jabber.

The only thing I regret is not having seen Type O Negative live. That sucks!

My old band did a cover of Metallica's "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" at practice one time (years ago). I'm the drummer! biggrin.gif
