I understand the case is quite old, but I'm sure it's been updated to withstand a modern pc build? Would either be using an IVY or Haswell build in this sucker.

How big is the case ? Yes I've actually read the measurements and broke out the tape measure, but I want to know how big it FEELS.

Lastly, I saw the case has a Plastic outer shell & a Steel Body, what's the quality like on this chassis?

Thanks heaps for your time guys & I appreciate it.

I liked the rv01 look but not the rv03 look.

Cheers

It's not really a tall case, but it is long and has heaps of room inside. The case it does not really feel big because it is not tall, it feels just about right. The plastic is pretty strong & durable, but it is plastic and will scratch. I have worked pretty extensively with the case and have to say that it is built well.

as far as being up to date... it has USB3 plugs biggrin.gif everything else is ATX standard and nothing to be "out of date" biggrin.gif

it can take a phantek PH-TC14PE, but that's about as tall of a cpu cooler you will be able to fit in there...

BEFORE you buy the case. DO SOME RESEARCH regarding what GPU cooler works best with the vertical mount system. not all coolers are created to be mounted vertically.

quality wise, there have been complaints regarding poor quality paint and is prone to chipping with rough treatment.

overall, it's one of the best cases on the market right now for air cooling.

Hey all

Looking for some input ... where is the best spots in a RV02/FT02 to place lighting and which lighting would be best, LED or CCFL ? ...

I am probably going to go LED as they will hopefully last longer and be brighter but I am not sure which brand is the best or where to place them in the tower to get the best lighting

I recommend LED lights because you can tuck them all over the place and not have to view them directly, yet get great lighting out of them. The RV02 has a ton of little nooks & crannies to hide lights in.

Temps on the single 580 and 2600k are really good with my setup. With them overclocked the 580 gets to about 60 and the CPU hits about 55 - 60. I added another 580 to the loop and it made the temps jump about 5 degrees, but all well within reason, especially with overclocking.

aye that bugged me as well. with my most recent revisions though, I added another LED strip to help with that.

Just painted... thought about getting the 182's but I dont really feel the need for them now that this project is pretty much finished. Might need some for the next project though....
