I agree, they had my sale on the RV04, if they released it a month ago, but now seeing the features of alot of the other new cases shown at computex the FT04/RV04 seem lacking as far watercooling goes, and feature/space wise the RV04 is much worse the RV02/RV03. This Round SS has lost my sale to Carbide Air 540, but i still need a second case as im done with my RV03 and need something smaller, eying the mini raven prototype!

Some of there other products like the thunderbolt gpu tower, AIO watercoolers, HTPC cases , and m-itx case all seem cool!

Im still excited to see what they will do with the RV05/FT05,

Hi, now I can say that I'll be able to enjoy the PC for a long time (still a lack of leds. XD)
This project, 2.0, is a job where I have spent more time, sweat and have to say that I enjoyed as a child, planning, assembling, altering mistakes.
I can say that since I started with the world of pc (13), with the MOD 2.0, I am fulfilled, especially matured and I learned a lot from fellow members of N3D.
Well without further ado, here you have pictures:

Fit's fine. I thought i might have to remove the 3 fan switches at the top but there was no need. Tight fit for sure but no need for any mods.

errr, what? Had no issues fitting it in the ft02-bw... You'd think they'd know whether they're own cooler fits in their own case.

Here's a pic I took: http://i.imgur.com/tZP9Z4Q.jpg

Edit: ok I lie there was one small issue. The included screws weren't long enough for me to keep the fan grill on the top, so had to be removed.

Edit 2: The screw holes line up such that if the cooler was even 1 mm to the side, it wouldn't have fit. Considering its butted right up against two rivets, I'm wondering if it all comes down to luck. In my case, the rivets were flat enough that the cooler only just fit, perhaps in other cases they'll be half a mm fatter and therefore it won't, hence silverstones reply about it not fitting? :S

Edit 3: Btw performance sucks. about 5-8 degrees worse than the h80i I'm testing with. Very disappointed as I thought the new radiator and in-house design would have an edge on all these coolit/asetek units. Save yourself some money and get a h80i, even a much cheaper kuhler 920 would do better. Could just be my particular motherboard, but i found when mounting I couldn't get proper contact on the chip, even with the cooler tightened to maximum. This meant that with thin thermal paste, not all the surface area was in contact, and therefore in order to get full contact, i needed very thick thermal paste which hindered performance.

That is disappointing - it is so beautiful! You didn't happen to notice how the pump sounds compared to the h80i? Haven't found any good reviews yet...

Been using an FT02-BW for almost 3 years now and would like to be added to the club.biggrin.gif Not sure if need to submit a pic but here's one of the original build (upgraded GPU & changed CPU heatsink later).

.

Is there a Fortress or Fortress 02 owners club? Didn't see one when I did a search.

Agree 110%. Hasn't been about a year since the Ft04 was previewed!? Frankly, disappointed with the FT04 going away from the 90 degree turn MB mounting rather than just refine what's already a very good case. Never did figure out the reason behind that decision confused.gif

Thanks.

Pump was extremely quiet, couldn't hear it at all above other components. It looks much nicer in real life than in photos, and I too was expecting some killer performance considering the extra thick radiator and soldered fins. I'm pretty sure most of the poor performance was due to the mounting difficulties, however i'm still confused as to exactly what went wrong :S. Needless to say, even with my best mount using shin-etsu thermal paste It was still 5 degrees hotter than the h80 on the 4770k chip i'm testing. (90 vs 85 degrees under aida fpu).

Another deal breaker for me was the included fans. I'm sure they perform well if you don't mind sitting next to an industrial vacuum cleaner. These have a minimum speed of 1500rpm which is far too loud. I ended up swapping with some corsair fans before giving up and going back to the h80i.
