Do you guys with FT02s avoid Gpus with vertical heat pipes?

I try to avoid them, (plus I love blower heatsinks) but I had no issues with an MSI GTX 670 in my FT02, and it actually dropped 8C coming from a HAF 912. Personally, I'd just get the FT02 and call it a day, it'll work with that card just fine. Just avoid cards like the 690 that exhaust out both ends and you should be good.

if you mean vertical when mounted in a FT02 then yes. The liquid inside of the heat pipe would naturally drain to the bottom of the pipe when mounted in a vertical orientation. it comes down to how heatpipe works in the 1st place. the wick inside the heatpipe draws the liquid to the heat source and that liquid is boiled off by the heat generated by the GPU. that "steam" is then cooled off by the cooling fins and fan and converted back into liquid and transported back to the heat source by the wick.

there is a limitation as to how far the wick can transport the liquid vertically due to gravity. and even if it is able to transport the liquid, the efficiency and speed of that transport is drastically reduced by gravity. that's why it's not recommended to have heatpipe in a vertical orientation against gravity in the 1st place. general rule of thumb i use is 3 inches of vertical travel. if the liquid has to travel more then 3 inches up on a vertical pipe to reach the heat source, then i consider that pipe to be useless and do not count on the cooling power of that pipe.

Are the high/low switches at the top blocking it?, i had to remove them when i had my rad with push only but when using push/pull the space the other fan gives let me keep the switches in.

Yeah the switches were the problem ... and if I try put the rad in/outlets on the other side the PCI slots get in the way of the holes lining up ...

:::EDIT:::

The AH is a great cooler especially seems I barely paid for it .. for now I have getto rigged it with 2 cable ties but they only really hole the 1 side tight and the other hangs slightly ... ... GTX680 idles at 28C now ...

The pipes are too short to route the other way so even if I remove the switches it wont help much ... I really need to find a better solution though as I am worried with the way I mounted it

I guess ... Just way to much effort right now ... busy testing the cooler out first just to make sure its not leaking ... ... It was old stock a supplier had and couldn't get rid of (display model) ...

Hey guys..........for the TJ 11 owners out there.

Has anyone fitted a Silverstone CFP52B (the hot swap bay device for 4 HD's) to their TJ 11???

Cheers. Macforth

hi gang
does anyone have any advice as how to route the tubing in the bottom of the TJ11 without removing the midplate?

i have a xspc ex560 and ex 280 radiators and am wondering which end of the case should i have the ports.

both at the front of case, both at the rear of the case or one at the rear and one at the front?

really dont want to have to dismantle just to add tubing.

how have you tj11 owners done it?

thanks guys
