Hi all, new to the forums
have a little question that seemed to fit this topic,
is it true that there is some danger in switching a drive from vertical to horizontal or horizontal to vertical after it has already been running one way?
normally i would just leave it alone but if i could move my hdd up from the vertical slots on the bottom of my case to the horizontal bays closer to my optical drive, it would allow me to run only one power cable to them rather then two. right now i have two sata power cables running one to each drive, and they both have two plugs, which is creating alot of wire clutter.
i already have a adapter tray type thing that would allow me to install the hdd in the horizontal bay, i think thats what its for at least, it was in the case when i bought it.
for the sake of full discloser, i bought my system used about a month ago, it was built by someone else, and my last computer was a Dell Pentium 4 desktop, so in other words i have no idea what i'm doing
but thanks to some lurking on these forums i've been learning a lot.
