I actually prefer my old G5 over my G9. It's got pretty awkward ergonomics.

I still say Steel series Ikari > every other mouse.
I have used g7 for over a year, lachesis for a few days. G9 for a month (still use it for desktop)
But the Ikari takes the others for gaming.

Everyone has different hands.

You know which the best are.

MX518
logitech G5/7/9
Ikari
death adder etc.

You need to either try them or order based on look or price.
Nobody can advise the right mouse for you, only themselves.

Otherwise that looks like a bargain!

I tried the Lachesis on a hard mouse pad and a cloth one.
No matter the surface it would still drag rather than click.
Lol do you even know what you are talking about? The frequency of mouse updates has nothing to do with the monitor resolution.

*EDIT*

And Razer just came out with a new mouse, the Salmosa:
http://www.razerzone.com/p-123-razer...ing-mouse.aspx

Same performance as the Deathadder but a finger mouse instead of a palm mouse like the Deathadder was.
And it's crazy cheap, might end up buying it soon!

Deathadder or G500 imo (DA for best sensor and G500 for everything else)

Like many here I've had a ton of different mice. I mostly used logitech up to the MX510/MX1000 then I got a deathadder and went on a razer binge with the DA, imperator, orochi and naga. I recently got the G600 and was surprised by it's superior build quality and sensor performance when compared to all the razer mice, except the DA's sensor which is the best of all I've owned. I got rid of the imperator and sidelined the naga for its jitter issues. I returned the G600 as the ring finger button was just too far a departure for what I am use to, especially when added with the 12 thumb buttons, and would give my hand a cramp after 30 min of gaming...otherwise it was really quite good. I exchanged the G600 for a G500 and oh how my hand recognized the shape...so comfortable. As of now the G500 is my default and I switch to the DA when the positive acceleration on the logi gets annoying...and the orochi for laptop.

Here's a few pics to make it interesting....

I expected Cherry switches for the price.

Also the key feel would be different from key to key as the rubber domes had not been centred on the membrane properly.

Finally the macro keys would not register if you were holding any other key down.

It was light and poorly made.

The Lachesis was the most temperamental and uncomfortable thing I have ever used.

Added to this is that Razer will not honour any warranty issues unless you buy from an authorized reseller.

Logitech on the other hand didn't want a receipt or anything and sent a G9 to replace a faulty G7.

Razer products aren't built to last. MX518 is teh win.

diamond back since release year...still going strong!
