I recommend the Logitech MX518. I had a copperhead before but this just blows it out of the water not just in first person shooters but across the board. For the price it's going at it's extremely good bang for buck too.

He asked for the best gaming mouse. Not the best mediocre mouse with a low price tag.

Copperhead would be a better buy.

Added Poll.

Lachesis
Pros:
400dpi (lol)
A lot
Cons:
Some ergonomical setbacks, I have a wierd thing of not touching the mouse with my palm whenever I use it so I'm kinda...

G9
Pros:
Everything the Lachesis has
Adjustable weights
Cons
$30/50% more expensive and hits the 3 digit range.

I would get the G9... or some other logitech mouse over the Razer.

My Diamondback is dying after ony a couple months (turns on and off repetedly). I thought it was just me, but two of my friends with other Razer mouses are having the same problem.. and you can see that the problem is actually quite wide spreed if you check out the interents on it. (what causes this is if you pull on the card a little hard or drop the mouse..) From what I have read it is becuase Razer uses cheap parts in there mouses.

I have the diamondback, and it was not a bad mouse until this crap started happening. If it was a year old or more I might not mind as much, but my mouse aloung with others have pretty much died in under a year.

Go with a logitech.

I have read about the jumpy mouse problems and it seems that when people run it at 4000dpi it picks up vibrations and you need a mousepad. I'm looking at the Exactmat, destructor and a few others.

Go to the store and try both, see which fits to your hand better. Its all about the feel, they perform the same.
