Asus P6T Deluxe "standard" vs. OC PALM?

Thinking about pulling the trigger on an i7 920 preorder...

So what are the differences between the two Asus X58 motherboards, the P6T Deluxe and the P6T Deluxe OC PALM? The descriptions on the site aren't directly comparable, and Google searches aren't helping me...everything seems to be an OC PALM, although they just refer to it as a P6T Deluxe in most cases.

From what I can tell, the OC PALM has two more USB and SATA ports (eight vs. six), and that external LCD thingie that means nothing to me. Are there other differences I'm not seeing?

Another question on the return policy: 14 days to determine an item is defective seems a little short to me (e.g. I just had a TT PSU die on me after 28 days), but even more in this case since it would be impossible to determine whether the part is defective until the CPU itself arrives. If the MB ships immediately and the CPU cannot ship until later in November...well, you see the problem, I'm sure. Any leeway on that 14 days with regard to preorders of an X58 purchased with an i7 preorder, given that a defective MB cannot be identified until the i7 CPU is in hand?

Mostly what you are paying for with the OC palm edition is the LCD deal, if you don't want that I garuntee the minor changes between the motherboard won't be worth the price increase.

As for the warranty, the manufactures' warranty should be good for long enough. 3 years on the p6t from Asus.

Pretty much this ^

As for the return policy: On any item, it's really 14 days from when you get the item, not when you order it. It'd be unfair for us to start running the clock when you buy it, only for you to have to wait a week for it to ship, then 3 days of it being in transit.

The 14 days is mostly due to our core customers. (Incidentally, this is also why we don't take *any* returns on CPUs). If something is DOA, you'll know right away. The issue we have is that people will buy stuff, it works fine, and they push to see how much they can OC it. They fry it, then demand an exchange. By limiting the return window, it helps avoid this, to some extent - which in turn allows us to keep costs down a bit for everyone else.

On the chance that the item does die, from legitimate reasons, after the 14 day period, there is always the manufacturer warranty.

Assuming I order the 920 and the board together, will they both ship at the same time, i.e. when you're permitted to ship the CPU?
