Well i got to say i love this game. Bought it as soon as it came out.
1 problem though low FPS

Average FPS: 24.22
Duration: 37.49 sec
CPU Usage: 95%
System memory usage: 51%
Video memory usage: 71%

Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1440 x 900 (60 Hz)
Texture Quality: Medium
Render Quality: Medium
View Distance: 25
Detail Distance: 25

as you can see i meet all minimum requirements and some recommended requirements.
what of two things should i be upgrading to get a good avg FPS, CPU or GPU

due to low funds like $350 can only upgrade 1 of them.

So who are running this game smoothly @ 1920x1200? I was hoping I could do that with my 4850x2 but no go there.:/

You would need a quad to do that. This game is pretty rough on dual cores.

My buds Phenom2 920 @2.8 mops the floor with my 4.1Ghz E7200 in GTA4

My bro's SIG RIG with E4500 OC 3.0 Ghz and 8800 GS OC 700/1750/2000 runs avg 35+ fps at 1680x1050 with view distance down to 5.

My Q6600 OC 3.6 Ghz with GTX 260 216 OC 725/1563/2400 and 4 GB RAM runs smooth 52+ FPS at MAX settings 1920x1200 with view distance 1 and I seriously can't tell much difference than view distance 30.

I'm happy with a view distance of 15 and I still get 48+fps MAX settings at 1920x1200.
I suggest trying to lower your view distance and make a compromise. You may be happy with the results.

Thanks! Just ran a benchmark and my E8500 is @ 92% with level 10 viewdistance and 1920x1200. This game is so good I might actually get a quad just for that.
