I wanna know what that guy from the Youtube video was running in the background. Probably why he was getting such low Fps. I have the same CPU as him and a weaker card and I'm positive I'll be getting better fps than he was @ 1440x900

Apperantly it is a bad port and not a driver issue.

btw this is not the only report, at the gta4 irc channel more people said they have this problem.
No one can finish the bowling mission because the ball doesn't react on the mouse moving.

Who knows, it could be a bad port and I could eat my words. All I'm saying is don't act like sheep and go crying bad coding like everyone did when Crysis came out.

I will have some benchies up tonight. I'll test at various different speeds with my quad, and I'll try disabling some cores as well.

Well also, someone increased the draw distance and he was standing in front of a wall, and it already begun to slow down, while there was nothing going on. Seems poorly optimized code to me.

Anyway i am not saying it is definitely a bad port until i play it myself, but i don't have much hope i can play it on 1024x786 on medium with 50% traffic.

Sorry, a 16Gb game takes a while to download.

Also, I thought I could disable 2 cores in the BIOS, but I can't find the option.

So I'll be testing my Q6600 at 2.4Ghz,3Ghz,3.6Ghz, and 4Ghz.

It doesn't render the whole map at the same time. It only renders what's on screen at the time...

Same for loading. It's not all loaded at the same time.
There's a radius around you which is constantly loaded. As you move, it unloads/loads stuff.

Do YOU not understand how this game works???? IT RENDERS THE WHOLE MAP. Every forum I go to people are like "it's badly coded...runs like crap on my uber rig" WTH do you expect but lower frames when you increase draw distance?
