It honestly doesn't. I mean, you can give it a try. It will WORK. But there's a memory hole (at least on my copy). GTA IV uses almost all of my 4GB of RAM. And your CPU isn't going to be clocked nearly high enough (my lowly dual core wasn't enough either @ 3.1GHz).

Well it runs fine on my buddys rig which only has 2GB in with an 8800gts(640) all on mediums and with some graphic mods to smooth the textures a bit

People are still trying to play games with 2GB of memory? Windows will use almost 1GB by itself. How you could even load GTA with only 1 gig or less of free memory is beyond me.
2 gigs is pretty much fine...especially if you happen to be running ddr3. GTA4 isnt all that heavy, I was just now posting here, idle in GTA4 and camping a Guild Wars event district, so...yeah.

Runs fine for me. I am using XP if that makes any difference. An awful lot of people only use 2GB of RAM. I always ask what people are using. Just curious I guess.

Is there any human being out there with similar specs to my 2 week old stock rig playing gta 4 smoothly(30-45 fps) on 1080p?

I cant get this p00p to run smooth, latest ati drivers (10.3) gave me a bad fps drop, and the smoothest drivers (8.66) gave me lots of GSODs and more frequent BSODs.

I only have xliveless mod.

Any solutions, links, advices?

Turn some settings down, or remove the mod. Your rig should be MORE than capable of playing it. My single core in my sig is ALMOST smooth at 1080p (I hit 20-25 FPS on medium).

DAmn it! I run it like that or even worse with my rig ..... And it will eventually get me a bsod when quiting the game :/

Which settings are critical to my situation ?
With default settings and even lowering Res(1400 x 900) I can barely feel improvements.

I am going to need to BUMP this as I have a very bad performance issue with my below specs on the latest 10.3 ati driver.
God i want to show my rig to my friends but it feels like playing on a x200 card :/ .
Someone enlighten us on how to overclock the pci-E freq and if it is safe .
