I am just about there... I am just about to get rid of my main pc I use for gaming and get an xbox 360 for all my gaming needs. Can anyone give me any good reasons why I should stay with pc gaming... my recent pc gamer just showed me more crap mmo's are hitting the market with grind fests

Left4dead rocks but the people are stupid as hell that are playing.
team fortress 2 getting old quick
crysis wars... not many people playing
ut3 no one plays the old fragging from ut1 those people have left the industry... they got married and have had kids lol

I'm just finding gaming on pc is getting to be slim pickings so what is your opinion? should i go buy one now?

I almost bought one today I have never been that close to buying a console. I just spent $300 canadian for my 4870 so might as well put it to use and see how pc gaming goes... I just hope pc gets some attention back in the future. I know my computer will last a couple years befor a upgrade will be mandatory so i will see what happens if the pc gaming industry is toast befor 2012 I will just get the next gen consoles... I don't wanna do both pc gaming and console I want to choose one and stick with it. I don't mind spending money for a high end pc but I want good game support on my pc also. which I'm sure most of you do!

So there are still awesome games coming out for pc so I will see where it goes!

for 199.99 for a xbox is cheap but you can't do anything with it like mods and overclock. So I think I will just put some money in making my pc nice neat clean and cool and enjoy what the pc industry brings out. I just hope it continues.

lots rides on pc gaming... nvidia, ati, inte, amd, memory companies mobo companies all make tons of money off pc gaming so I can't really see it die but the market is sure getting smaller!

It's up to you I personally like to play FPS games on my PC plus graphics pwn on the PC. Plus the amount of sheer customization you can do on a computer is better in itself. In my experience there are plenty of people online playing PC games. There are thousands online to play COD4. Have fun with the RROD. I would just say keep your PC and get a console to support it so you can switch back and forth.

360 failures ( 3of3 360's I've been around have failed in various ways)
less "pretty" graphics than PC
computer can do more than just games
Upgrade options on PC
Most games that are on 360 do eventually get to PC
FPS games imo are better with mouse and keyboard

I have a PS3 for my racing mostly, and random exclusives or non pc realeases lol

i`m actually getting back in PC gaming (lately) instead of console gaming (xbox360)
mainly because of AA, faster hardware for higher settings, and most important...my mouse

@ previous 2 posters: RROD? that`s almost completely solved now

and i never had a RROD and i`ve got my 360 from the start

maybe you just got bad luck or something

I love console gaming..i do play on my 360 alot more then my pc..but i guess its each to their own..i prefer playing games with a pad rather than the keyboard and mouse..although my 360 did get the RROD yesterday..and ups is coming to pick it up tomorrow though..but im pretty sure the new 360s dont get it anymore..id say go for it.

For me PC + PS3 = WIN

PC gaming is just too expensive... You bust out huge money at least once I year on a graphics card to play the new games... then you find out your processor is holding it back so you buy a new processor but your motherboard is too old to support it. So you have to buy a new processor.
Then you buy the game and you get all these issues. I like how you never have to worry about specs for 360 or PS3. Just pop it in a play. $300 gets you 3 years of entertainment... $300 doesn't get you half a computer that will do any gaming.

Just my

I love my 360, but I gotta say both is the best solution. I like 360 for racing games, CoD4 online w/ friends, GoW1&2,Halo and sports games and other exclusives.
But with PC you get the enjoyment of customization and pick a cool case and some lights and make it look cool. PC gaming also has the better graphics, AA, and also a PC can do other things. You will need the internet, which means you need a PC, which means keep yours for gaming. Buy a 360 or ask for one for a present at Christmas or Kwaanza or w/e.

That is only if you want to have cutting edge tech. A good video card/cpu can last you 2-3 years playing the latest titles with a bit of graphic res tweaking. Then you can wait until cutting edge stuff drops a bit and get a good deal on it.

I do a bit of both but here is the thing about PC gaming, you are going to have a PC anyways, drop an extra 400 (how much do 360's cost these days?) on it and you have a fully functional uber-fast everyday computer and a gaming computer in one, plus you can spend more on your monitor because you can chuck your TV for a tuner card =D

With a good graphics card by slowly tweaking the settings down you can use it for more then 2 years, (what do you need to run Crysis at low/medium 1280x1024?)

Edit: And its fun to OVVVVEEEEERRRRCLLLLOOOOCCCCKKKK (and tweaking)

Edit - 2: Near unlimited backwards compatibility (plus if you own a old console and games it is legal to emulate them on your computer so you don't need then out and connected to your TV [Think these days emulators work up to PS2's])

If you need a group of people to give you a reason to stay on your PC you're better off getting rid of it and going pure console. PC's are not just for gaming and that's the main argument i and many others made when the 360 launched. "Oh i was going to get a pc until they said the 360 was coming out". I heard this time and time again and it sickens me.
Can your xbox let you check your email or bank account? Can it be used as a calculator or calendar, or let you fix pics or alter them with photoshop. The list of things a PC is capable of are infinite. Keep your PC and get a 360 or PS3 this way you're ready for non PC releases and you have something to switch to from time to time in case your getting burnt out.
FYI, if you were to try and run Crysis on full AA and graphics on your 360 or PS3 it would freeze up and have a seizure. The games that will be releasing next year at this time will make Crysis look foolish so take that into consideration.

yup, totally agree!

Shooters on a console are total fail. and seeing as you mainly play shooters, why go with an Xbox? Mouse control is just so much better. Also you can do much more with a pc, and tons of custom settings not to mention overclocking.

just buy an x360 controller for your PC, lol it'll be the best of both worlds.

unless you have a bunch of friends that play xbox, i would stick to PC.

the only reason i'm still content with the PC gaming scene is that i have a few gaming friends to play online with.

and some of them are still playing with x1950PRO's, one with an x1900AIW and one with an 8600m laptop so the latest and greatest doesn't have to be had for games.
