My 1st Intel Build..suggestions needed

Thread Starter
Well after having nothing but AMD built PC's I decided to go Intel for the first time, and will most likely finish the build right on christmas.

Mobo: Asus P5E
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3
RAM: Unknown/undecided.

so far with the basic's is it ok for a multi-tasker and still play high end games?

That's FAR from basic.

I'd save $$$ with a Q9550 [E0] and grab either 48--x2 with some of the savings.

The 750TX [or even 650TX] is worth it cause it isn't that much extra. Corsair>Antec, but both are good and both will run a Q9550/4850x2 fine.

IMO you don't need to go WC with this chip, just get a TRUE or Xigmatek cooler. They don't run that hot and you'll save $150 to $300.

EDIT:And get the q9550 instead of the q9650.

I would go with a much better & powerful psu.

And instead of 2x 4850's I'd go 4870 1GB you could always add another later on.

As for ram look into G.Skill or Corsair Dominator's 1066.

Get a Q9550 instead of the Q9650 and then replace the 260GTX with a 280GTX/4870.
