Which Material? - Page 16

glad to hear that gir! but i'm really bugged out by the scratches now. i'm going to go over it once more with some fine grits and then hand buff/polish instead of the buffing wheel and see how it comes out.

And would you mind taking a pic after you're done in lower lighting please? It kinda looks like silver in the first pics.

Try some brasso for your final polish it will take a lot of the finer scratches out. Its looking good!

nol did some testing, then ended up killing the tec's.

The final setup was suposed to use 4 x 62mm Big TEC's, but i ended up getting a chiller from teyber.

TECs vs phase... no competition really... TEC's cant keep up anymore..
I've never seen a TEC chiller that would knock off more then a few C. They can be made but I'd hate to pay the electric bill for them. There kind of what the refrigerator res is to WC'ing.

well i found out that the buffing wheel i used caused alot of unnecessary scratches. went over the original finish with some mothers and alot of them went out.

going to go over it again with some 1500 then 2000 grit then repolish with mothers. as for that brasso where can i get it locally?

Wal-Mart,grocery stores, a lot of hardware stores may have it. Mothers will probably do about as well and you already have it..

its much much better now compared to before. my image in the brass is very clear. about the lighting though.. the polished brass is very very light and it does almost look silver...i'll try lighting in different rooms to see if it'll be any different.

here is a comparison of polished with mothers and a resanding+mothers:

still some microscratches.. going to give it one last go of 2000 grit and a repolish and i'm done. i hope :x

got rid of pretty much all of the parts that were really bugging me. all thats left to do is pack it up and send it to gir face.

i took these in the bathroom as it gave a better sense of what color it actually looks like.

the image you see is my pineapple cup with tooth brush.
