How to: Check the speed of your new graphics drivers? - Page 2

Ensomniak I think you totaly missed the point. this is to test wether your drivers are set for performance or image quality if you happen to not know. It only makes sence if you are going for performance to have vsync turned off.

actually...drivers are all the same ( except with new support ) ...only thing drivers do to differenciate between fast and slow = nothing.....fast drivers merely turn off most or all of the functions like FSAA high texture quality etc....slow ones turn them all on.....so actually you can do it yourself if you use rivatuner like I do .....tested it out with Aquamark.....pretty lame though now that I know how drivers work

Yeah that was a while ago...LOL
I'm not that graphically involved anyway...unless a game I like needs more than a 6800 or 7 series...I'm good with XG drivers...indeed ma'am!!!

THANKS for making this faq because i had no idea that doing a simple dx test could see is you had fast or quality drivers.

the good thing about omega driver for me is that when i use ati tray tools i can click on the directx settings and make all the setting for max performance or max quality. when they were on quality the cube wasnt really slow but i could read the sides, when i set everything to performance the cub went crazy and was a lot faster compared for before.

THANKS

it does not make you faster like I said...you could go dl a slow driver for all I care and disable everything like those so called " fast " drivers do and disable everything and youd be as fast or even faster -.-......
