Last night the card was ordered. I probably will order everything else tonight, except for the blood rage of course, not out yet. I will definitely be OC'ing the Core i7 920 along with 4 G of patriot viper. i will keep you all posted on how the build goes along with pics of the progress. i will post a final checkout list of what im getting. since sapphire is the only 4850x2 i was able to find i didnt bother asking if it was a good buy. plus i am well aware of sapphire's awesome reputation. i believe it was right at $400 USD beating out the gtx 280 even though its 380 now.

doesn't it have to be in increments of 3 gb now for ram? I have not followed i7 very much, but i thought since it is triple channel, it had to be 3gb, 6gb etc.....please correct me if i am wrong.

i have seen reviews that suggest that you can run dual channel without too much performance loss

after the dead southbridge debacal, i finally got vista 32 installed, 8.12 cat's, and all updates. time to OC the i7. i am not really familiar with the new options in bios, and would like some assistance on OC'ing with stock volts to cpu. ive already noticed it wont seem to run my ddr3 1333 at the specified 1333. always goes back to 1066. is the uncore the NB? and why wont mine hold a manual selection? it seems in that section the cpu and mem timings always revert back to default. anyway, any help is appreciated

edit: also noticed that post screen cpu speed does not reflect actual speed. im talking about the 2nd listing for the cpu speed too(which is supposed to be the real time speed)
