I need urgent help with a c1 post code thing

Thread Starter
I just got my motherboard back from RMA to newegg.

This is the motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136051
The motherboard is fresh out of the box.
I am booting it with one stick of this ram in the third last slot: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231097
Ram is fresh out of the box.
I am using this power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104015
Fresh out of the box
I am using this graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161249
Used once when i tried to boot the first motherboard before the RMA.

The power supply is hooked up correctly and I am attempting to boot the computer with one working sata hard drive. I have a ps/2 keyboard and mouse plugged into the back, I also have the video cable for my monitor plugged into the slot on the right of the video card.

The motherboard displays a c1 code in the built in lcd. There is no display on my monitor but all the fans are running on the motherboard and in the case and the hard drive is spinning.

I can post any picture of the setup or any info you may need.

Please, I beg you, HELP ME FIX THIS!

I will love you forever if you do.

C1 is a memory error, and also a product of unstable settings.

Try clearing the CMOS, and if that doesn't work, pull all of your sticks out and try them one at a time.

I only have one stick of ram. I could take some out of my hp computer but I don't want to do that again.

PS. This happened to me with the first motherboard I had before I sent it back.

Makes it sound even more like the RAM's fault, since it happened on two different boards.

Long story short: I bought a new set of ram for the motherboard after i sent it in.

PS: I have never booted this board before. It is brand new out of the box.

So, you were using different RAM on the old board, you RMAed the board, and you're using new RAM on the new board back from the RMA and it's posting a C1?

Try just resetting your CMOS.

Yes.

I did. But it can't possibly be that anyways because I have never booted the computer to change settings.

Oh yeah, the processor is a P4 if that matters.(box says it's supported)

That should be fine.

Also, you're booting it with a different stick of RAM? Did the old board (the one you RMAed) have the same C1 error?

I bought the Gskill ram after i sent the old motherboard back because the motherboard does not support high performance ram before the settings are changed in the bios. SO i bought this ram so i wouldn't have to take apart my hp computer and use it's ram to boot the dfi motherboard.

And yes the old board had the same c1 error.

PS: I found a review on newegg from a guy that is having the exact same problem. I think I'm screwed.

So the G.skill RAM works fine, but the other RAM doesn't?

RMA the other RAM.
