Oh sorry, I misunderstood. I don't think I've seen a keyboard with a metal spring mechanism.

The IBM Model M kayboard uses a buckling sping design. I am typing on one right now- vintage 1991. Yep- its almost 17 years old, and works great!

I find it easier to type on than rubber keyboards... and it is extremely durable.

I'm the slowest typist in the world but I never find it hinders me because I like to think before I type and because I'm deadly accurate. No point typing fast if you have to backspace every 4 words. Either way, good FAQ. Enjoyed reading it

(I typed this at 45 WPM ><")

Keyboarding never really did catch on for me, I type hunt and peck at a bit above 100 WPM, but I can only type my own thoughts that fast, if I'm reading something, it doesn't come as easily. Nice guide though, let's see some DVORAK!!!!!

I'm using a QWERTY as i dont want to have to learn Dvorak then switch back to QWERTY every time i'm at college etc.

I just took the typing test and got 62 WPM Gross (i made some errors). I only type with 6 fingers, accross both hands, im not a mutant. But i can type without looking at the keys.

I was going to learn the Dvorak layout, but soon gave up.

Just tested myself ... "your typing rate is : 97 wpm"

I'll stick with that for now. +REP on the great guide though. If I had the time and will power I would learn Dvorak.
