Don't steal dude. It's wrong. If you really don't want to spend the money, go find a linux freebie, there's tons.

Fans for cheaper:
4xCM 120mm for $10

Blue LED 120mm CM fan $2 each

Comparable performance, cheaper price. Seriously, you're on the wrong forum to try to justify stealing.

So what should it be, $5? It takes A LOT of work to develop an operating system, and you're stealing, face it.

You'll probably be able to find a 400-500GB hard drive for $50. I've seen a few, and given black friday...
The 4830 outperforms the 9800gt and sucks less power...
so the 4830 should outperform the 8800gt because they're basically the same.

I would make a couple changes:

HS
XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 - $21.99 shipped after MIR
Comments: I have the Hyper TX2 and it's a nice cooler but the XIGMATEK is better and cheaper after rebate.

Motherboard
Asus P5Q Pro P45 - $99.99 + shipping after MIR
Comments: Why get a P35 mobo when you can get a P45 with crossfire for just a little more. I have this board and it is the best board I've ever owned!

RAM
OCZ Reaper 4GB DDR-800 Kit - $29.99 shipped after MIR
or Corsair 2GB DDR2-800 Kit - $9.99 shipped after MIR
Comments: The RAM you had was cheapo stuff. Either of these would be much better. I'd get 4GB, even if your not going to be running a 64-bit OS you'll still be able to use 3GB or so and would be able to upgrade to 8GB down the road (if your running a 64-bit OS).

Hard Drive
Western Digital 640GB AAKS - $69.99 shipped
Comments: One of the fastest SATA drives out there. You may never use all the space but who cares it's better not to run out.

Case and PSU
Antec 300 + Antec 650W Earthwatts PSU - $100
or Antec Sonata III w/ Antec 500W Eeathwatts PSU - $74.99 shipped
Comments: Either of these would be great.

thx 4 the suggestions ben. ill take the Case + PSU, heatsink, and ram into consideration.

i looked at the mobo, and altho it is the best bang for the buck, u need to understand that my dad is a money-hoarding arrogant man that doesnt care what i say. if i can find one cheaper than the ep35 ds3l, ill try to get it. same with the HDD

instead of simply saying that u saw 400-500GB hdd's for $50, it would help if u actually referred it to a site or a store, if not a link.

If you want a cheaper board you could get an open box Asus P5Q Pro for $78.75 + shipping. It's even slightly cheaper than a brand new Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L board. Just note open box motherboards don't always include the accessories. You might be able to get a 500GB HDD for $50 somewhere but why buy a slower and smaller size drive just to save $20. Try to convince your dad to get it. Tell him it's one of the fastest SATA drives available (which is true) and worth the extra $20 over the cheap 500GB drives. 81% of the Newegg reviewers gave it five eggs.

I KNEW the 590 would be behind that link. Awesome case.

Its basically a 690. I just used one for a build and will be using them exclusively if the budget allows.
