G12/Antifreeze + Bleach = Safe???

Thread Starter
I was going to mix a bit of G12 with my bleach/Distilled loop because I'm worried about corrosion, are those 2 chemicals safe with each other?

Also is the thermaltake fluid that comes with there case's just anti-freeze or is it a mix of stuff?
Was just wondering if I could use that instead of G12..
It only says Propylene glycol on the side...

Thanks

Why are you using Bleach in your loop?

G12, Distilled water and a couple of drops of PT Nuke will do the trick..

Just a very little bit of bleach.
I don't live in the U.S. and I'm too lazy to order PT nuke.
Besides laziness it would cost an annoying amount to get it shipped to me.

Do NOT use bleach with ethylene or propylene glycol. Bleach = sodium hypochlorite, which is an oxidizer. Oxidation of the glycols would convert the glycols to di-aldehydes or di-carboxyl acids and liberate a small amount of hydrogen. You will loose the cooling property of the glycol and create a safety risk with the hydrogen.

If you are worried about corrosion, I suggest that you drain your loops, disassemble, and independently clean the heat transfer areas with a citric acid solution (orange cleaners, etc.) Rinse thoroughly in distilled water before reassembling.

I'm going to be running a Quad TFC Rad, Dtek Fuzion v2, EK Res and I'll have a separate loop for my motherboard NB.

I read somewhere that the stock Asus waterblock is copper plated alu so I dont want to mix that with the brass/copper Rad/CPU block.

Would Distilled and G12 work alright to prevent growth and corrosion?

I can't find any rule against double posting.?

How likely is it that I even have to worry about corrosion with a brass rad and copper block?
Could I just go ahead with distilled and bleach?
