Help me build a comp please. =]

I'm looking to spend around 700-800$ , i'm really new and dont know much about computer or anything. I"m a photographer so i mostly do a lot of pictures editing and play a little bit of cs on the side whenever I have time. I need something stable and won't break down, if you can help that be nice. I have an antec 650W trio powersupply , should i keep that or upgrade? The list on the bottom is what i need, i want to go with quad core. Thanks for the help guys. Looking to overclock safely if anyone can help also.

CPU = Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 or 9300? Suggest something else
Video Card = ?
Memory = ?
Motherboard = ?
Heatsink = ?
Power Supply: Antec 650W Trio

CPU = Q6600
Video Card = ATI 4850
Memory = OCZ 8500 1066MHz Reapers
Motherboard = Asus Maximus Formula
Heatsink = OCZ Vendetta 2
Power Supply = Antec 650W Trio

Will be an awesome gaming system, especially if you want to overclock, for the specified budget.

Good luck!

For gaming purposes, the Vista Home 64bit Edition, unless you have a network you're running, would be great for gaming!

The 650W is fine.
Erm. If you want budget, I'd suggest getting the Q6600. Quite cheap right now.
Again, for budget, get a 9800GT. It's around 100 after MIR these days. Quite cheap.
RAM... Really, just get 4GB DDR2 800-1066Mhz. GSkill, OCZ, Corsair, whatever. I'd say limit yourself to ~75USD.
Mobo... Not really knowledgable here, but from what I can tell, the Asus P5Q series are nice. 100USD.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131299
HSF, if you're really cheap, stay with the stock intel. But it's a POS IMO, so I'd get a Xigmatek S1283. It's like ~20USD these days. Good cooling for cheap.
HDD: Really doesn't matter much: Seagate, WD, Samsung, whatever. Go under 100USD, so basically, you can either get something like the Samsung 750GB HDD, some of those WD 640GB ones, or some Seagate 750GB.
CD/DVD ROM, doesn't really matter. Just get something ~30USD or less. Get a 22x.
Case: Again, doesn't really matter. Something like the Antec 300/900, CM690, or some budget Cooler Master/Rosewill case will do fine. 50~100USD.
So it total, ~700USD.

The 4850 is decent, and you can get that if you want.
9800GTX is also pretty cheap, but the 4850 beats is.
9800GTX+ is on par with the 4850, but it's more expensive.
If you want to Fold. Get a Nvidia card, it gives more PPD.

I was suggesting a video card that would beat the 9800GT, but not stretch out the budget as a 9800GTX would. If you tabulate and the 9800GTX can still be squeezed in, then by all means but I think the 4850 and the 9800GTX will be on par.

I have the OCZ Reapers and they are super cheap now, perform great (have a heatsink that really cools well) and the OCZ return policy is no hastle and they have a lifetime warranty.

Good point, the PQ5 is also a good overclocker, from what I hear, and would let you save some money for you to get the 9800GTX or perhaps the 9800GXx2.

Start from there and if it looks like you have more money to play with put it towards a GPU and or CPU upgrade.

So it seems, your system is coming together!!!
