because no self respecting technician with real knowledge would ever be willing to be crazy underpaid for the work they ask you to do.

My first tech job was at a custom PC shop and I was being paid abit higher than minimum wage.

i wanted to tell off one of the guys at micro center when i overheard him telling someone that a 4890 was not worth it this was before the 58xx series had launched and i had just bought a 4890 and i don't regret it. Also the micro center in michigan hates AMD and ATI because their graphics card aisle is a whole side and a half for Nvidia(fail?) and their cpu case is 3/4 intel and a small sliver of AMD cpus

might be true but without that 43 lines of code your hard drive isn't going to do anything

Direct quote from a kid my friend knows "Well your monitor is in hertz, not frames. So that makes no sense. Nor does your code compiling. My friends lol at your computer knowledge."

Dude, the Fry's salesman here tried to sell me an i5 lappy with hyperthreading. It's like a 5th core, but you don't see it.

EDIT: In the end, I settled on an Asus lappy from Best Buy, all the salesman bugged me for if I was gonna buy right there and then, who got the hint that I knew a lil something about computers.
