Max voltage for a AMD 6000+?

Just wondering what it would be. Mine is currently set at 1.4 to get a 3.3oc. I was just wondering what do you think is the MAXIMUM safe voltage?

Hard to say. I have the 95w Brisbane 6000+, and it comes 1.4V by default. I bumped it up to 1.467 to get 3.38GHz stable, but I'm sure you can go to at least 1.5v safely.

I'm not sure if there are big threshold differences between the Brisbane and Windsor...sorry.

I have my BE running at 1.45v to get 3.3Ghz. No problems so far.

I read somewhere that the 65nm's are more sensitive to voltage increases than the 90nm's. I upped the voltage to a 1.45 and have a 3.4ghz clock. I'm running a 1hr OCCT test on it right now.(Completed 20mins of it and the max temp I've seen is a 47c. I believe I have it stable, but I'll let it run for the remaining 40 JUST to be safe.

It locked up 25 minutes into it...(The voltage was only 1.375 though.) So I went ahead and upped it to 1.450

5 minutes into it and 100% load cpu temp is 48c(I'm sure it will end up being in the low 50's 20 minutes into it.)

I'll post back after 25 minutes into this test.

That's true, because the transistors are smaller, and therefore not as durable (luckly, they usually take less power to switch, which is why the 45nm chips use less power, and produce less heat).

I personally wouldn't go over 1.5v on the vcore for a 65nm chips, at least not for 24/7 use, because electron migration becomes a real possibility (which is bad).

Good luck

What about a 90nm?

I take it by that you're asking what the highest voltage I would run a 90nm chip at. Did I understand that right?

If I guess right, then I would say 1.55v or so... definitely not over 1.6v (and for the record, the 130nm chips (aka socket A rigs) came stock at 1.65v, so that gives you an idea how it changes between the different manufacturing processes). THe really crazy OC's that i remember from the heyday of the 939 rigs, was 1.7-1.75v, while most settled somewhere in the 1.55-1.65v range.

Good luck
for safe praticies, usually its 25% of the original voltage.
example.
1.25v x 25%= 0.3125 + 1.25= 1.5625 i would use around 1.5v. mind you this is with proper cooling.

Thanks for all the help guys. +rep both of you.

I was about 30-40 mins in the OCCT test and got a Code 1.

Sigh* This processor JUST doesn't want to get me a 3.4 -.-...Any Suggestions?
