How is you cooler mounted? Is the fans pointing to the top of the case or toward the back?

As far as temp goes, mine are much higher. But that's because my ambient is probally 33C or so. My computer sits under an enclosed desk. It idles around 40C and goes up to 68C under LinX.
well it just passed 10 hour prime small fft without llc @ 3.6 so im assuming its fine . the cooler is mounted so that the fan is closest to the ram, parallel to the rear outtake fan. so, its pulling cool air in from the front of the case, pushing that cool air through the cooler towards the rear fan, like this:

fan fan fan fan fan

fan <- cooler fan <- ram
fan <- cooler fan <- ram
fan <- cooler fan <- ram
fan <- cooler fan <- ram
fan <- cooler fan <- ram

and i would assume some of the heat is being pulled out by the top fan as well. it also sits out in the open, so that probably helps it stay cool. wondering why you're getting such high temps with such a low voltage though

If it was still summer I would run this setting

Q9550@3.7Ghz - 1.088v (1.125v bios)

I'll try lowering the vcore a notch or two lower and see if it would still remain stable. Flashed bios to F6 from F10B, Maybe this bios would let me run 503fsb+ a lot easier with 4x1gb of ram. Very difficult with F10B.

That's a huge Vdroop from 1.225 down to 1.088. I take it that's with LLC disabled?

Your settings are very similar to mine except for my MCH is 1.3. I tried all the lower setting, and Prime blend would crash out. At 1.3, its rock stable. Also my bios Vcore is 1.15, but I think I can go lower. I jumped from 1.125 up to 1.15. I'll try to lower it a bit later. Also My PLL is 1.5. I haven't tried 1.45. But will soon to see if it makes any difference.

That 1.225v bios is a typo sorry, that's with LLC (I will turn it off once I reach 1.25v). It's set at 1.125v bios 1.088v win. That Linx run that nearly took an hour isn't stable It couldn't even run Crysis Warhead which I just installed using that setting doh! It would ctd and give a 0x000124 bsod which needed a notch more vcore. I'm now blending it at 1.131v bios 1.10v win. That's why I rarely use linpack, it's very unreliable. It's good for trying to impress everyone with very low vcore

You're running mch at 1.3v, due to having 4x1gb of ram and using 1:1 divider. It doesn't matter which one 2.00B/2.00D it always behaves like that. You can lower PLL voltage to 1.45v also, You raise this voltage once you hit your first cpu fsb wall. Don't be afraid to experiment. Try the 400 2.66D strap and find how far you can push your ram. This strap/divider doesn't eat a ton of nb voltage and your default PL is 7 with Cas5 timings.

Will I need more MCH volts if I change my strap from 2.00D to 2.66D?

What's your testing methods for determining stability?

I linked you in a pm earlier HCI Memtest for windows. Start at 333fsb. 333x4/3=444Mhz (888Mhz) 5-5-5-15-TRFC 54, Static T Read Control on both channel to 7 and leave the rest to auto. Dram voltage to 2.1v and MCH Voltage to 1.20v-1.24v should be enough. Slowly push your ram to 533Mhz (1066Mhz). Run HCI memtest at each session. When the chipset doesn't have enough voltage. It wouldn't post at all. It it tries to post over and over again, then your static t read control is too tight. Once you learn how this works, you'll have a ton fun trying different combo's of settings

You get 3 options. But memtest is better than custom P95 1024K-4096K w 3584Mb of ram.

Run either option 2 or 3 of memtest with 300% completion.

wait, so llc lowers the vdroop, so would it be reasonable for me to think that i should enable llc and lower the vcore down to ~1.17 (on full load Intel Burn Test the vcore goes down to 1.152 from 1.216)? or is there some inherent problem that comes with enabling llc.

Try that out. Enable LLC and drop your Vcore.

Looks about right, but performance level isn't showing though.

Notoriousbic, That's perfectly normal when you have LLC enabled. But once you go above 1.3v, I thinks it's best to follow intel spec
