I did order new fans and a controller. I ordered 8 of these (yes 8) ;D and the sunbeam Rheobus Extreme.

The ones highlighted in red and numbered are the ones I counted. Unless I missed some?
I think you can get the bigger ramsinks for some of the mosfets that are grouped together. You need to sink the mosfets below the ram slots as well, they are for vdimm.

Now that's how it's done Sweet fan controller btw. Looking forward for your results with Q9550 + Hyper 212 hs. Don't forget to post high res pics of your gear when you get them

Hello all

I'm brand new here and thought I would join up because I am currently building a computer and I am using the Q9550 processor. The rest of my parts to finish my build arrive in two days and should be finished by Monday night.

I will be looking into OC'ing this processor shortly after finishing my build and came across this site. I heard it's a really great processor to overclock hence why I joined up.

So I will keep posted guys, and will check back here once my build is complete

Thanks

Well I dont think I can get to the mosfets below the ram slots because of my 4870x2. It overhangs quite a bit over these. I'm just not too sure if there is enough clearance. I suppose I could cut them down to fit?

As for photos I will be taking quite a few so dont worry!

What are everyone's Q9550 temps? I'd just like to know where I stand. It seems like mine's running too hot...

40C Idle (after warm up).
65C running Prime 95. (It got to 68-69C a few times)

I think I need a new/bigger case. When I pop the side panel off the full load temp drops to 60C MAX.
