Hello and thanks for your responce. I would be happy with a stable 3.8, but it's hard to say now. I ran SiSoft Sandra-CPU/Math to get all cores maxed for a few minutes. Do these numbers seem acceptable to start with, or should I re-route my liquid cooling curcuit first? Currently, the curcuit is Pump>Rad>Rez>CPU block>Pump
Thanks again-Chuck

Your temps are actually fine since speedfan default tjmax for quads 65/45nm is 100C. Might want to find the optimal cpu/nb gtl ref's for your mb and focus with vtt/vnb to go for more fsb.

K so I need some major help guys....
I just installed win 7 (64bit) and I'm having some problems.

1)My sound card (SB Audigy 2) is not registering my mic with the latest Creative drivers so my mic is not working. I don't want to go buy a USB mic b/c that doesn't fix the problem 100% and on top of that I want to actually use the sound card.....

2)Coretemp is now reading my vid as 1.25v whereas it was reading it as 1.1325v in win XP 32 bit. (anyone have any thoughts on this)

Thanks I will look into that.
Good news is my OC is fine with 8 G ram.

4hrs of Prime Blend. 10min of OCCT Linpack. Could test more but really no need considering it was rock solid before.

Problem though is the Core 1 is like 5deg hotter than the other 4 and it wasn't before adding the new ram. I suspect it's because I had a push/pull on my true and had to take off the push fan to fit the ram in.

Yeah if you have good cooling you should be able to get 4.0ghz, or at least 3.9ghz at a minimum.

You're going to want to check the Asus forums for your board and see if there is any chatter about the clock skew. Chances are you will hit 3.8ghz easy and then from there you will need to fool with your GTL's and Clock Skews in the bios to hit 4 stable.

Yeah you're at 3.8, you need 471 on FSB to hit 4.0ghz

You have a cool feature on there called CPU margin enhancement (set at optimized) I wonder what that does for you. Sounds like it attempts to auto tune your clock skews. However that's just a random guess.

iHi all, this might sound like a bone-headed noob question, but why after my over-clock does my bios say my CPU is running 3.566GHz but CPU-Z says i'm running 2.44GHz. If I leave the CPU-Z window open, and play a movie or something, this number flickers up a little, but goes right back.... This is my first over-clock, so I took baby steps, but I'm not sure how to really see my true clock results... Any help ??
