I knew that Speedstep would make the voltage readings change, but since I had never used CoreTemp (I normally use Hardware Monitor from the CPU-Z site when I want to look at temperatures ), I really didn't know it could also get variable VID's because of BIOS settings.

As to having C1E enabled, as a matter of fact I do.

I have all those Sleep states enabled, actually. Should I disable any of them for security ? I guess I can live without them, but I'll keep SpeedStep whatever it takes heheh.

So with a VID of 1.2875 I should be able to go 3.2Ghz at stock voltage, right ?
If you have a good chip you can get quite high with stock Vcore, mine does 3.6 GHz with all voltages set to Normal. With LLC I can even run at 3.9 GHz using Normal Vcore voltage.

Welcome to OCN. Looks like a nice setup you have there.

You should go into your User CP (link at top of the page) then scroll down the left side to the Add System link and fill in all of the above into it. That way every time you post all of your system specs would be right there making it easy to offer assistance.

You might want to check out the EP45-UD3 thread (link in my sig) as well as there is a wealth of info on those boards there. It's very active with a lot of very knowledgeable EP45-UD3 users there to offer assistance as needed.

I'm been truckin' along with my 9550 at 3781mhz for about 2 year now. I upgraded from an e8400 at 3915 before that. I just ordered a 6970 and might crossfire down the road. I have a msi p45 platinum, 8gb ram at ddr2 1066. I plan on getting every once of life left in my platform before I upgrade. I'm guessing I can get by for atleast 3 more years before the cpu starts to become a bottleneck issue. When I say issue, I mean the cpu keeping me from getting acceptable frame rates 40+ or so. How long do you guys plan to hold onto your 775 platforms before upgrading or how long till you think we will have to upgrade to keep up with gaming demands?

Hey yo, i just joined overclock.net
Inspired by all your work and help here, I started to OC.
This is my result (my first real OC attempt):
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1563365
My vcore is set to auto and is @1,24v
i left everything else @auto, only changed the FSB.
I`m using a asus p5p43 PRO, which i got yesterday and the bios is strange,
so i just used "auto"-settings and disabled all the stuff i read which need to be disabled.
under 100% load i got 40°C max, thx to noctuas c-14.
So PLEASE add me to the club!
PS: if someone can give me some hintz how to hit 4,0GHz
i would be very happy.
/* I didn`t dare to change volts, `cause i wasn`t shure if the settings mean the increase or the final voltage in this strange ASUS BIOS */
sry for writing that much, im hyped by the OC`ed CPU

Welcome to OCN. The first thing you should do is go to the USER CP link at the top of this page, scroll down the left side to the Add System link and enter in your system specs in as much detail as possible. By that I mean 2 x 2g PC2-8500 G.Skill rather than 4gig ram. That way the rest of us will know what hardware we are dealing with so we can make better recommendations. The type of ram as well as the cpu heatsink/fan will have major impacts on your ability to OC.

Hopefully KingT will be along to provide some insight. He's much better with Asus boards than I am. I use Gigabyte boards and the bios settings are different.
