Hi there,

I'm new here. I joined up because I got a few google links to this forum while searching for info on my Biostar TP45 HP board.

Well the info has helped a lot and I am now currently at 3.77GHz.
I tried for 533FSB with a 7 multiplier but it didn't want to post. But I will keep trying!

If one of you kind fella's could add me in please. Here the link:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1617607

CPU Voltage: 1.288
Chipset Voltage: 1.312
FSB Voltage: 1.328
DDR Voltage: 2.176
CPU Core1 GTL: 0.63*VTT
CPU Core2 GTL: 0.63*VTT
MCH GTL: 0.67*VTT

Thanks.

A couple of things here. First, what is the VID of your Q9550? You will find that by running CoreTemp. CPU-Z does NOT show the VID, nor does any other program that I know of.

Next, what LOAD temps do you get with that Akasa heatsink and what are the ambient room temps? The Akasa is an okay heatsink for a mild OC, but not capable of really high OC's with a Quad.

Finally, instead of trying for 533 x 7 leave your cpu multiplier where it is and just keep raising the fsb. Not all motherboards are capable of running 533.

You will probably find more information in the TP45 Club here at OCN.

@ SazBard

Hitting 533MHz FSB on Q9550 is highly unlikely,at least by just setting the basic OC options in BIOS..

533MHz FSB even with 7x multi will never be stable, and probably you could only reach it (if you reach it at all) by using SetFSB program..F

For example you boot to Win with 500 FSB x 7 (if you can) and then use SetFSB app and slowly by 2MHz start to raise FSB..

You'll need high vNB voltage like 1.6V and high vFSB/VTT voltage (much higher than 1.32V that you're using),and 1066MHz capable RAM to even try to do it..

CHEERS..

Hi there,

To answer your questions...

VID as reported by coretemp (great program, I use it all the time) is 1.2625v

My load temps vary when running prime, some tasks run at around 68°, and others at 72° centigrade. Not exactly great temps and I suspect the case is the main problem. I've had three different set-up's in it and all of them ran high temps. My ambient I'm guessing is around 26° centigrade.
I'm pretty confident with a case change the load would probably be around 65°. What do you think?

I knew 533MHz was way OTT, just having a bit of fun really. But I'm not finished with my OC yet for sure. I will try to get as close to 4GHz as I can.
I will post up here my results as I go...

I'm pretty sure my board can go higher, I've seen reports with some as high as 600MHz. But that is with 1.4v going through the NB/SB and FSB and I wouldn't feel very confident pumping that much voltage 24/7.

Cheers.

With Quad core 600MHz FSB is a myth..

With C2 Duo sure it can be done..(usually with LN2 cooling, phase or DICE)

For 725MHz FSB on Biostar I45 + E8600 (with LN2 on CPU & NB) CLICK HERE

Oh yes, you are right fella. I forgot to mention this was of course with an e8300 and cascade 2 stage cooling!

and a e8500 from Biostar's own team. Well I presume it is their own team as it is on their website.

For 696MHz FSB on Biostar TP45 HP and E8500 (both on LN2) CLICK HERE..

Note that they probably have used very high vNB to achieve that FSB..
