Having a bit of trouble with my chip. I'm at 4.0Ghz just now, ran Prime95, reached almost 2 hours before it failed, however, have got through all the benchmarks I've tried which is nice.
Anyway I'm already putting 1.45V through it (), temps aren't too bad though: 60*C max(water).

790i Ultra:
FSB 1.4V
SPP 1.45V
MCP 1.55V

Any theories on how I can get that voltage down?

whow thats way too much volts! what revision do you have? you should try it at 1.3v and mess with the gtlref v. thats where you will find you stability. here is a link to all you will need to know about adjusting those voltages:
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=...55697;
that should help you out. 60*C is way too hot for a water setup, you shouldn't need that much v core. you sholdn't need that much volts on the mch either, overvolting also caused instability. try 1.4 for the mch. that all should help.

I pulled a bonehead newbie error... 4got to reset bios! That's why I had instability at 1st! Also didnt save or write down previous settings... NOTE 2 SELF! It had been a while since I setup this bios, but I got it all stable!

DAM, what a change from my old 2.2GHz E4500 C2D... improved my video encryption from 50-60 minutes all the way down to 15!

Started @ 355MHz x 8.5 for a decent 3.0GHz OC! Running at 45C idle.

Wooowww... 45° Idle ? Is your Soul agree with that kind of torture ? Mann, go buy your PC a decent coller, don´t f...ing destroy it... If you read true this Club you will see decent cooling on this CPU, most of them like other collegue told you some post before, Tower Cooling...TRUE or something else...
Like my Q9450,sold to a ... ,who doesn´t have anything to do with PC´s....How I hate this treatments....sorry dude for this direct post....but just woooow

I know, I know. I just wanted to get to 4. .
From 3.75Ghz to 4Ghz has taken a lot of Vcore, and I did have a wee go at GTLrefs, but I suppose I'll have to work them out.
Cheers.

Anyone think a UD3R will help me get to 4.2ghz+? I am at 471x8.5 right now....with 1.26vcore and 1.55v on my NB.

It's E0.

Tried messing with the GTLs, got no where - couldn't pass the first test of prime95 at 1.40V. Workers one and two would fail at every +/-.
My VID is 1.25V, heck knows why I can't get anywhere with this - quite annoying.
Got it 7 hours prime95 stable at 3.75 with 1.35V on it just now.
M'eh.

Can I join? 3.34 GHz (393 x 8.5) E0 Stock voltages (I don't want to touch voltages since it could fry it). I could probably get it higher but I've only gotten my ram stable at up to 474 MHz, iirc.
Also I love this thing, it's like it's on meth, cocaine, and steroids, so glad I got it.
EDIT: Forgot the validation: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=564649
