Q9550 750i FTW Build

Thread Starter
Here's a list of the gear:

Intel Quad Core Q9550 (4 x 2.833ghz)
OCZ PC8500 (1066mhz) 4GB
WD Velociraptor 300GB 10k RPM
EVGA 9600 GT 512mb
EVGA 750i FTW 1333 FSB, made to be overclocked to 1600mhz
Antec Sonata III
Vista Ultimate 64

andddd my attempt at being 'clean" with the cable management. Such a tight squeeze on the bottom right by the 3.5" drive bays

I have yet to overclock this rig yet, but I will be in the future

For the motherboard, get a EP45-UD3P
The FSB can go all the way to 2400 with dual cores and 2000 with quad cores
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Tpk=ep45-ud3p

I would buy a much stronger video card, and in return, get a cheaper CPU. You will get much more performance!

Both your links are linking to a 4870 . but i agree, that system needs balance and a better GPU. if you want to stick with the 750i FTW go with the GTX260 core216 though so you can actually use that great SLI board.

But it looks like he has already purchased this rig and is trying to post some pics? i think?

Ok, I fixed the link to the CPU.
For your case try looking up an Antec 300. They will have much better airflow.

The system is built. Rig ran me about $900. I know the GPU is the major bottleneck here, but i can always upgrade when current good GPUs are 1/2 the price. I had an amazing deal on the CPU and couldn't reason myself NOT to get it.

Don't forget that when you upgrade your GPU, you're probably going to need to upgrade your power supply too. Just trying to help, it looks great!
