Q8300 Overclocking Thread

Thread Starter
I've got a Q8300 on the way. They were released November 30th. Since this is what I guess will be surplanting the Q6600 I have a feeling there will be a lot of them getting OCed here in the next quarter or two...not everyone is going to go Ci7.

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_2...580Q8300).html

I'm looking forward to getting what I can out of this chip. I'll be posting up results in the next day or two.

Please post up your screen captures and info on the Q8300.

I'm curious to see how the R0 stepping performs

The Q8300 will probably perform maybe slightly better than the Q8200, but it's all FSB overclocking so it's probably not going to go very far. Maybe 3.6 max unless you're lucky.

Like its little brother the Q8200, it's not a chip I would buy for overclocking, that's for sure.

Nice! I need to do mine a bit more! I need a new cooler first though...

You can stick your Computer Specs in your Signature like mine, for example, by going here: http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem
