I want to overclock my Corsair Dominator PC2 8500/1066

I can't even seem to go from 1066 to 1166 stock volt is 2.1. I have been to 2.22. Can I go higher?? How high can I overvolt this ram?? will this ram justbnot oc very high?? I can oc it to 1111 but I want 1166-1200 maybe even 1266?!?! Help please

do I need to mess with timings?? I am illeterate to setting timings so if needed I need step by step

I really appreciate any help..........(seriously)

you'll never get a massive overclock because the modules are pretty fast at stock, I'd suggest trying to get more aggresive timings, I got mine to 4-4-4-12 (stock 5-5-5-18)with out any extra volts! firslty you need to check that your MB and BIOS has auto detected your timings correctly ( my motherboard set the modules to 4-4-4-15 without me doing anything!) because you'll never get a MHz increase if you're running really tight timings by accident.

Ok yeah my stock timings & the ones detected by the mobo are 5-5-5-15 & when I try to change any lower I get bsod

not all modules are going to overclock as well as each other, do you have 2x2Gb or 4X1Gb? fewer modules will overclock more easily, try setting the timings to 5-5-5-18 and then trying to increase the frequency ~1166MHz

hi im new here ? for anyone willing to help ive got 2x2gig of the ddr2 doms that i prev had corsairs 800mhz dhx 4x1gig @4-4-4-12 and the 800mhz got a 7.4 score in 7 but the doms only get 5.9 also i had the 800mhz at the same timings as the 1066 and achieved the same overclock i have now with the 1066 why the lower score???
