Not enough power for 7800gt

I was going to purchase a 7800gt, but it wont work with my current psu, and now i cant get it cuz i cant afford to buy a new psu. Any ideas on making psus perfrom better?

I'd look into a PCI-Express motherboard first But no, you can't make a PSU "more powerful."

Well you can get 550 watt PSUs for $20... if you an afford a whole new system, $20 shouldn't be too much of a stretch. It may not be a quality unit, but it's a more powerful one if nothing else.

Well, I guess you could change some of the transformers inthe psu to get more amps, but I wouldn't know where to start

Why not get a AGP 6800 ULTRA and a decent PSU for you existing setup?

You save money and get a killer card to boot.
