I will wait for 5870. My 4850 already has a good overclock.

Nope , the move doesn't looks worth it for AMD , they should make a bigger Jump , not just from 800 to 840 and offcourse combine the lower transistor counts with the insane clocks on the RV775XT and you will find it hard to believe , and with that 4850 story i can always trade it with something Bigger without paying much because the Zalman is a Plus and i wont do it unless the performance difference is big

Yes but looking at Nvidia which only adds 24Sp to the GTX260 just to be better ATI does the same. They dont have to rush with faster cards.

judging from the number of TMUs it should be a 960 shader card.

We are months and months away from any new high-end cards from ATI. Take any numbers you hear from ANY source with a grain (or truckload) of salt. If you guys think the HD5870 is going to be a slouch, you are all DEAD WRONG.

I read a several (5+) page article last week on how it took ATI 5 years to design, develop and produce the RV770, how are they gonna change the core so dramatically in months just to put Nvidia down for a product that is going to only just beat the 4870X2....

Anyway if I am wrong, and I do hope I am, it will be great to see an even more powerfull X2
They already have the designs and technologies in place, just takes a little creativity to improve them. How hard can that be?
