It's not overkill, man. The big cards can't always be the ones getting Intel love ya know. Sometimes the small cards need an Intel reach-around.

That is Intel's guideline for the long life of your processor. Yes I totally agree GIGABYTE's approach is totally brute force. I think that's what you're getting at. Cheers

I seriously doubt he even needs the QPI at 1.5v, could probably drop it by quite a bit and remain stable.

From what I have seen the QPI voltage does have a big impact on stability. Big difference between running at 1.35 ("safe") vs at 1.45.

As long as people know that the 1.5 volts here appear to be way outside Intel guidance for safe voltage - especially people running 24/7.

Yes, I know people run outside "safe" all the time. As long as they know there won't be any surprises.

The doc looks a bit rough but written by manufacturer so it is fine for a general OC reference.

Even though the QPI voltage of 1.5 that they use is way outside Intel's recommended 1.35 max?

I wish that they would acknowledge that these settings are outside the max recommendations so at least people know.

Yes. I agreed. They should stress that 1.5v may damage the i7 chip.

Yeah, I don't think they're going to refund anyone's $$ when they fry their CPU by following this guide.
