That is total, utter, BS. Who started this rumor and how did they come about to that number?

My voltages are on auto, except the CPU voltage.
I won't overheat anything or get burned, I just want to make the world's best overclock!
Still cant get over this part.. P5Q's can run very high FSB's..but with 'Auto' voltages..you are surely pumping much more than is needed to some components.

No joke..even a poor littl E7400 is fine with running 1.42v for 4.1ghz 24/7.. I laugh when I hear the 'vcore scaries' ...its leik 'reefer madness' LOL.

I hear it's from intel's website but have yet to find it for myself.

i find my 1.38125 perfectly safe since my temps don't go over 65 deg under load, 71 under burntest.
Thanks to my Xiggy and AS5!

IMO- I think your crazy for using Intel Burn on a highly OC'd 45nm.. thats risking some degradation for sure.

I'm not the kind to care for warnings, i'm the kind that'll try to see if warnings were founded.

As of yet it works well for me. And I secretly wish it does blow up to force me to get a e8600 EO in this rig

Hey, if money's no object.

Someone warned me not to drive a car without wearing a seatbelt. Care to challenge that warning too?

Intel has posted 1.3625 as the safe ceiling vcore with 45nm chips.

http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sSpec=SLAPL

with that said, you have to take into consideration vdroop, 1.3625 in the bios on most motherboards will be considerably less in windows, especially under load.

I have more than a few 45nm chips and don't have issues going 1.4 in bios knowing that it will net out below the ceiling that intel has specified.

whatever you do, stay away from LLC or vdroop control on the 45nm chips though. That is proven to damage spike sensitive 45nm chips.

To the TS, your ram is going to be your limiting factor, not the cpu or its temps.
