Recovery Partition backup

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, A friend just purchased a new hp desktop and it didn't come with restoration disks, it does have a recovery file on a partition on the hard drive that is about 14gigs. What would be the best process to burn that to disks and make "bootable" in case the hard drive fails. Thnaks. Mdun6

You are not going to be able to burn it to a disk. If it has a recovery partition then it is bootable to that partition. It will require you to hit a certain key or keys to enter the recovery partition. If you want to make sure that you can recover from a complete failure of the HDD then you can use an old HDD and clone the laptop HDD to it and store it somewhere in case of emergency.
