2 x TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX, stability issues - Page 2

Johni,
To your question, I made some stability testing Yesterday running these sticks at 834 and 870 MHz and yes, I was able to have them pass Memtest86+ tests 1 to 8 without errors.
The tests were conducted with a FSBRAM ratio of 2:3 with my FSB frequency @ 290 MHz (1,160 MHz FSB).

After these tests, I changed the FSBRAM ratio to 4:5 because I further increased my my FSB Frequency to 320 (1,280 MHz FSB). I stopped there for the moment until I improve my PSU and my cooling.

Once I get home tonight, I'll let you know the exact parameters used for my tests @ 834 & 870 MHz (Volts & timing).

completing reply to Johni´s question,

Here´s what I used for overclocking this RAM

FSB 278 (x4 = 1,112)
DRAM 418 (x2 = 836)

Volts
DRAM 1.96
NB 1.26

Timing
5-5-5-18-3-55-6-3

Memtest86+ reported NO errors, 1 pass
Vista Ultimate started up untroubled
I did not stress test.

When I repeated the test with FSB @ 290 (x4 = 1,160) and DRAM @ 435 (x2 = 870) and the rest identical, Memtest86+ did report 2 errors on test7 and 7 errors on test8.

I did not pursued this path because I was still increasing my FSB speed, so no point, for now!

Hope this helps...

Ok, I have a set of parameters that made the system stable running these sticks @ 870 MHz DDR2:

FSB 290 (x4 = 1,160)
DRAM 435 (x2 = 870 DDR2)

Volts
DRAM 2.0
NB 1.26

Timing
5-5-5-15-3-40-6-3

I also enabled a setting in my MoBo called "Mem OC Charger" and set the "AI clock twister" to moderate

Hope this helps
