AVG Free Errors

Thread Starter
Hey all,

Just this morning, my desktop (sig rig) started reporting that a .bin is missing from AVG Free. I tried updating, restarting, etc, and I keep getting the error. I had to come into the lab, otherwise I would have tried doing a reinstall too.

When I got to the lab, low and behold, AVG goes to update, and BAM. The .bin is not found. Now the only thing I use this (laptop) computer for is email (school and GMail), Woot, Slickdeals, OCN, and PubMed -- all websites that I find very trustable.

Any input on this, and has it happened to anyone else?

Try uninstalling it again. Only this time, during setup install it to a different directory. Sometimes this works.

It might be a registry problem, running CCleaner couldn't hurt either.

Does it say the name of the .bin file?

1) go to http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-update...
2) make a directory on your desktop called AVG
3) download AVI: 270.9.17
4) download IAVI: / 1845
5) move the downloaded files to the directory you made called AVG
6) launch AVG
7) select tools -> update from directory
8) select the directory called AVG where you put the downloads

the update have been buggy its known you gotta wait til they update again..but this is a fix for now.
