q6600 GO Need advanced OCing Help

Thread Starter
I recently built my first rig and overclocked it. It isnt my first overclock though, I couldn't afford the q6600 at first so for about 6months I ocd the crap out of an old P4 640 Prescott in this rig. and got it to 4.0ghz stable 24/7. Anyway I can get this Q6600 to 3.2 standing on its head. Idles at 38C Loads are 58-60 While at 3.4 I get P95 crashes after about 3 hours. I know since I am reaching this boards Max FSB I needed more voltage to various things, but none of what I have done below is changing it. And since core 3 is the one failing every time I dont think I need more CPU voltage. By the way the voltage below droops to 1.33 under load. Here what I got.
FSB 375x9 = 3.4ghz
DRAM Ratio - 1:1
FSB to NB - 333
DRAM Static Read Control disabled
DRAM Read Training disabled
MEM. OC Charger disabled
AI Clock Twister lighter
AI Transaction Booster [Manual] Perf 12
CPU Voltage 1.386
CPU GTL Voltage Ref(0/2) .63
CPU GTL Voltage Ref(1/3) [Auto]
CPU PLL Voltage 1.56
FSB Termination Voltage 1.4
DRAM Voltage - 2.0 Stock
NB Voltage 1.4
NB GTL Reference [Auto]
SB Voltage [Auto]
PCIE SATA Voltage [Auto]
Load-Line Calibration Disabled
CPU Spread spectrum disable
PCIE Spread spectrum [Disabled]
CPU Clock Skew [Auto]
NB Clock Skew [Auto]
CPU Margin Enhancement [Optimized]

My specs are
Antec900 Case
p5q-e + q6600 GO SLACR w/ Sunbeamtech Core Contact Freezer
Kingston HyperX DDR2 800 2x1G
Antec TruPowerTrio 550W
WD Raptor 10KRpm 70G
WD Caviar Black 500G
Basically I'm stuck and would greatly appreciate any help that you ppl could throw my way.

When I get 1 core fail I up the Vcore volts 1 notch.. give it a try.

Need to make a correction the vcore i wrote of 1.38 was for 3.55ghz What I was failing 3.4 with was 1.33 BIos 1.27 load. Thanks for the advice so quick I am about to try that, but do you think my other voltages look in order?

I would set this to auto until I got a stable OC

Oh, well see the thing is I tryed that on auto. If you look when its on auto it still shows you what it is it in grey and it sets it to 12, plus 12-15 is the halfway mark between Performance and stability. But I will try it cause you never know. I upped the vcore BIOS 1.34 load 1.28, so just a hair like you said. P95 is running right now so we'll see. If anybody else has any q6600+p5q-e OCing tricks to share I would love any advice. thanks so far We Gone

Give the CPU some voltage. And fill in your system specs.

Ok than it should be ok.. I think mine runs at 7 or 8 on auto..but it is not the same MB. Everytime I would fail 1 core I just upped the vcore it was at 3hrs than at 5hrs. when I got past 5hrs I was good for 16hrs.

Just takes time.....good luck

Well hopefully after this stables out i can get the CPL down to 8 or 9. I can do it with 3.12ghz. Anyway thanks for all the help. If anybody has gotten the P5Q-e to its max FSB, 400, with this processor I would love to hear about how to do it.
It's a P45 chipset, you shouldn't be maxing out the FSB at 400, but still...

Let's see, CPU ratio 9, FSB 400, CPU voltage 1.475, NB voltage 1.42. Loadline Calibration enabled. That should more or less do it. Your Q6600 may need more or less CPU voltage. Your NB probably can do with less voltage.

Well there is no way that I can set the vcore that high with the load-line enabled. I see temps in the high 60's with the load-line enabled and a vcore of 1.28 (3.4ghz). Besides I have seen in several forums people talk of the stress that load-line puts on the various voltage regulating parts of your mobo when you combine it with a high v-core. I've seen ppl only recommend it to get your vcore down some. I'll probably just stay at 3.4ghz, and take your advice and not try a peak it out.
