from what i understand the ram is running at 400mhz which is 800mhz since is ddr2, but mine is labeled 1000 so is it not underclocked or something?

so should i attempt to enable loadline calibration again and try a lower vcore?

Yes it is underclocked. Make sure the voltages are set to 2.1v for the ram and that the tRFC (Ref Cycle Time) is set above 52 if you are going to run the ram at 1000. Then set the northbridge strap to auto and select the ram speed that is closest to the rated speed.

As vor LLC, just senable it for now and see how much higher you can go. Or if heat is an issue, lower the vcore .

You aren't going to need LLC until you start going for a higher CPU OC. If you want to do that now...

If you're going to leave it where it is, then by all means kick your RAM up to 1066 (or 1081, I forget which it is at that FSB).

The G.Skill 1000 kit will 90% of the time not even get to 1050. The G.Skill kits are binned. So if the kit could have done 1066, it would have been sold in the 1066 kit product line. My last G.Skill 1000 kit would not OC much at all unfortunately.

Well, that makes me feel much better about not buying G.Skill. So, OP, I guess leave your RAM as it is.

With G.Skill, they just OC test them for you. So you just buy the speed you want. They have a 1066 kit for $54.99! It wont reach 1100, but if thats what you want, you just but the 1100 kit for $115. They wont reach 1200, but if you want 1200, you buy their kit for $289.....

So its not that they sell bad kits, they just do the OCing for you. My 1066 kits do 1088 no problem, and only need 1.8v, or 1.94v when running all 8Gb.

No they are not good OCers at all. They do run CAS 4 up to 900, but they top out at about 1015 Cas 5. IMO the 2x2Gb 1066 kit for $59.99 is a better buy.

will i see any difference between 800 and 1000?
and about LLC, if i intend to stay on 3ghz for now, should i leave it disabled? or maybe enable it and try to lower the vcore? (i'm at 1.35000 now)
