Pook's mATX (re)build!

Thread Starter
When I originally built my rig (before my CPU died from an OCing casualty and before I had a zillion HDDs) I intended it to be quiet, but I had to stuff so many fans in there it got unbearably loud. Plus, performance is blah with the Pentium D in there, and I'm in need of a case size downgrade. Limited floor space and a small desk are a pain now that school started and I'm doing homework.

So, here is is It's just to freshen my rig up, not quite starting from scratch.

NZXT Rogue mATX Case - Black/Red
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146044
Price: $149.99

DFI LanParty JR P45-T2RS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136055
Price: $149.99

Core 2 Quad Q6600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017
Price: $189.99

OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2GBx2) DDR2-1066 CL5
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227289
Price: $70.99

Xigmatek 120MM Orange/White LED fans - x6
(Five in the case, one on the TRUE)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233015
Price: $53.94

Thermalright 120 Extreme
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=21840
Price: $54.95

Once that's in and running, I'll probably sell off the left over parts from my rig now, and throw in a 4870. I won't buy until around Feb, so whatever prices drop, I can upgrade to whatever fits my budget then Just making a rough idea.

It looks good. I have 3 of those Xigmatek fans and they look awesome.

Are you getting this stuff right away or are you waiting a little bit?

Skip the LANPARTY and get this board.

And get a Q9550. You know you want 4GHz quad core speed.

This is a mATX build so that board would not work.

I this new system needs a new name. With the small percentage of parts you're actually carrying over, I think it's justified.

This is usually how I go about upgrades. I have one machine to resurrect when I get home because she was my first Need to see what happened to the MB.

That case looks wicked. I'l llike to hear how it works out for you!

That board isn't mATX, and I don't need a 4Ghz quad, nor do I want one with my budget. I'd have to cut the rest of my build down to afford it.

mATX Lanparty ... Trying to go against Biostar's mATX ... but they missed the ship and should have done that way back when with the TForces for 754/939

One of the reviews I've read said that the IFX can fit, so I'd assume the TRUE can
