I still have a memory problem of some sort

... and after 5 hours, I have a headache as well.

It is a continuation of this: http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...-mobo-hdd.html

So I got around to dealing with this problem and I try 1 stick in the A1 slot and it started up.

*I kept that stick in and put another in the A2 slot and it didn't start, put that 2nd stick to the side.

*tried a different stick in the A2 slot and it worked.

*With A1 and A2 filled, tried the last stick in B1 and B2 and it started up. Worked for a while and then froze after 20-30min after hitting the start menu.

*Thought I accidently grabbed the "bad stick", tried all of them in the 1st slot one at a time. They all started up.

Tested each with the MSoft memory test and each worked and passed. [Don't say memtest86, I don't have a floppy. I also don't know how to make an ISO... or burn a CD for that matter. Ignore memtest for the moment as I have another tidbit to the story.]

So I crashed with sticks in A1, A2, & B1 or when all four slots are full.

I haven't crashed with just a stick in A1, or with sticks A1 & B1 and I just spent two crashfree hour defragging the HDD with sticks in the A1, B1 & B2 and leaving A2 empty.

My Diagnosis: My A2 slot is bad... and I have a headache.

So as I nurse my headache with some Vodka & OJ/Iced tea, I await your 2nd opinions to take into account another day.

Yeah, I got the rig from Vigor Gaming back in May and theres a 3yr warranty. But I need to pay for shipping the whole rig there from NY to California and I threw out the box in September cause I have a small apartment So I'll need to buy the box and packing materials.

They have a 10-day limit once the RMA# in given. I was going to wait till after the holidays as to not fight with that holiday postal traffic. Also, I looked on the site and they want my invoice#... Like I still have that. Hope they can look it up.

But I'm going to wait until after the holidays, I rarely use my desktop anyway. I do most of my gaming on my laptop and consoles.

1-Cause if I could build a PC myself I wouldn't have spent the extra $2/300 over what the parts would have cost to get the custom build from Vigor.

2-The labor is under warranty too, if I take it all apart it ain't their labor anymore, is it?
